WWDC 2020 – How to Turn On Siri Captions on iOS 14?.
Even though Siri runs on iOS 14 with a redesigned user interface, expanded knowledge base, and the ability to do more, it still sometimes hears my speech incorrectly. Since you don’t get any signatures like you used to, there is no way to know if Siri heard you correctly until the command is completed. However, Apple offers you the option to enable captioning on Siri. Let’s see how.
Launch Siri Captions
The latest version of the Siri interface does not occupy the entire screen, but a small part of its bottom. To enable subtitles, open settings and scroll down to find Siri and search.
In Siri & Search, tap Siri Feedback to open the settings page. From here, you can simply turn on the toggle next to Always Show Siri Signatures and Always Show Speech.
That’s it, Siri will now display a transcription of your speech on the screen for all requests. In my opinion, I find it easier to use Siri because I can see if Siri heard me correctly or if I need to repeat the command and start over. What do you think? Do you prefer Siri without or with subtitles? Let me know in the comments below or drop me a line on Twitter.
