WWDC 2020 – How To Take Mirrored Selfies on iPhone?.
If you are taking a selfie with your iPhone, you may have noticed that the final photo is an upside-down version of the original. That is, the left side of the image becomes the right and vice versa. This feature ensures that the final image is more intuitive and closer to what you really looked like at the time of shooting. However, if you prefer the mirrored version over the natural version, iOS 14 now gives you the option to do so. Let’s see how.
The first option – if you have iOS 14
To do this, you will need iOS 14 running on your iPhone, which you can do by following this guide. Once your iPhone has the latest software installed, simply tap the Settings app and scroll down to find the Camera app.
Tap the Camera app and toggle the switch next to Mirror Selfies. When enabled, your selfies will remain mirrored, and when you disable this switch, selfies will be kept as they always were, natural.
The second option – if you don’t have iOS 14
Prior to iOS 14, if you wanted mirrored selfies, your only option was to manually flip images using the built-in editor in the Photos app. If you want to flip an image after you’ve taken it, open the Photos app and tap the image you want to flip. Click the “Edit” button in the upper right corner and select the crop bottom function.
In the upper left corner, you will find the flip button, click the flip button in the upper left corner to flip your selfie, and select Done.
Last words
These were quick ways to mirror your selfies to iPhone. It’s good to see that Apple has finally made it possible to choose which selfie orientation to leave. I personally like the natural version, but if you like the mirror version better, there is an option for it. Let me know if you have any doubts in the comments below, or email me on Twitter.
