You once had to keep a paper calendar if you wanted to keep track of appointments. If you don’t carry it around with you, chances are you wouldn’t have it on hand when you need it most. Plus, it wasn’t easy to share information with other people in your life who might need to keep up with you.
Technology has changed everything. Today’s calendars are mobile and sync across devices, so wherever you are, you can view, edit, and create appointments. You can also easily share your calendars and appointments with other people so they keep up with you.
Google Calendar is one of the most popular electronic calendars, and here are a few reasons why.
Email auto-complete
Email Auto Content
Everything from flights to movie bookings is done online these days, but you should also remember to add information to your calendar. If you have Gmail, Google Calendar will automatically host the appointment for you. You will even get a reminder when it’s time to leave.
You can manage automatic imports from Gmail by going to Settings in your Google Calendar. Scroll down to the Gmail Events section and change the visibility of your appointments or clear the checkbox to stop importing completely.
Manage multiple calendars

If you need separate calendars to manage different areas of your life, Google Calendar can help you. You can use the checkboxes under My Calendars to choose which calendar you want to see, or check all the checkboxes to see everything in one place.
This is useful if you want to have a different calendar for work and personal, or keep a separate calendar for different aspects of your business.
Mobile Access at a Glance

Google Calendar is popular in part because it can be viewed anywhere. If you download the free Google Calendar app for iOS or Android, you have easy access to your appointments while you’re on the go.
Best of all, when you add an appointment to your calendar on one device, it instantly syncs across all your devices so you always see the latest information.
Share calendars and events

Almost immediately after you set up your Google Calendar, you probably want to make sure others can access it. Maybe it’s a trusted colleague or your life partner who needs to constantly monitor where you intend to be?
Just click on the three dots to the right of the calendar you want to share and select Settings and Sharing from the options. From there, you can add the names of the people you want to add and also specify if they should be able to make changes or only have view rights.
You can also easily share any event by editing it and adding guests in the right pane of the event details.
View interesting calendars
Browse important calendars
One of the things that sets Google Calendar apart from the competition is the View Calendars of Interest feature. By checking the box, you can add a calendar that lists all the dates you need.
Religious and regional calendars ensure that you never miss a date that matters to your needs. Sports fans will love that they can check the box and get a full schedule of all the games in the NBA, NFL, NHL and more. There is even a calendar that helps you keep track of the phases of the moon.
To add these calendars, scroll down to More Calendars while on the calendar screen, check the plus box and select Browse Calendars of Interest
With the right calendar app, you can easily manage appointments and stay on top of things. There are so many features in Google Calendar that some of them are easy to miss, so it’s important to know what it can do to get the most out of it.
