Use Secret Silver Subscription Plan to Save Money on Audible.
If you don’t already know, I’m an audiobook lover. I listen to them on the way to work, before bed, or anywhere else when I have free time. Yes, a digital audiobook never feels like a good old paperback, but I prefer the convenience of listening to my favorite book anywhere, than the nostalgic smell of new books. However, I have been an Audible subscriber for the past 2 years and if you followed me on YouTube you could see what I recommend at the end of my videos.
Now, the way Audible works, after the first month of the free trial, you have to pay a $ 15 monthly subscription that gives you one credit for a free book every month. This is fine for most people, however, if you don’t listen to a lot of audiobooks on Audible, then here’s how you can save money.
If you’re new to audiobooks, watch this video on getting started with audiobooks.

Audible has a secret silver plan
This secret plan costs $ 15 every two months and you will receive 6 credits per year instead of 12. This means you will be charged every alternate month. It’s almost like canceling your subscription and restarting it every month. But if you cancel your Audible subscription entirely, you will lose all unused credit that you have. So if you’re having a busy month, the silver plan makes more sense.
So how do you get this?
Well, unfortunately, there is no direct option to do this. You will need to contact Audible via chat, phone, or email . Audible has the right to refuse or cancel this offer at any time in the future as they do not advertise this plan. But the chances of this happening are very small. To make sure you find the right person, go to My Account Change or Cancel My Membership Renew / Downgrade My Membership.
Alternatively, if you are saving for a rainy day and want a little break from Audible (I know this can be quite expensive) then suspend your account instead of canceling your subscription. Each Audible user can do this for 3 months, once every 12 months for a specified period of time. Unlike canceling a subscription, suspending a subscription will retain any unused Audible credits.
Again, to suspend your account, you will have to contact support.
Edit: You can also find this option when canceling your Audible membership. No need to contact customer service.
