Tribal noise – cancellation headphones.
The noise canceling headphones are the perfect travel companion. Whether you’re on an airplane with a crying baby or in a noisy coffee shop, sound is the enemy of productivity and, frankly, pleasure. Who can really experience Game of Thrones with poor audio quality?
Tribit QuietPlus 78 offers multiple noise canceling modes, the ability to connect to multiple devices at the same time, and a host of other features. Tribit has sent us a pair of QuietPlus 78 headphones for review.
Tribit Noise-Cancelling Headphones: Appearance and Unboxing
The Tribit QuietPlus 78 has a nondescript case. The case itself does not have external markings to indicate what is inside, but in some cases this can be a bonus – it can be easily mistaken for a toiletry bag, rather than containing expensive electronics.
The earbuds themselves have a simple design with a metal band around each ear cup. The Tribit name is embossed on each cup, but there is no additional markings outside of these two places.
The letters inside each ear cup indicate which side is left and right. All controls are on the right earcup, including the volume up and down, power and noise canceling buttons, as well as the charging port and 3.5mm jack.
The package includes the QuietPlus 78 headset, protective case, one USB cable, one 3.5 mm audio cable, and a user manual. The audio cable is long enough to conveniently connect to a phone or portable game console such as the Nintendo Switch.

Sound Quality
The Tribit QuietPlus 78 is a decent set of headphones, especially for the price. While they’re not going to wow an audiophile or face off against Bose headphones, the sound quality is unequivocally average, with an emphasis on low frequencies that can make high notes a little boring.
The difference between headphones is noise cancellation. These headphones are great travel companions, but you’ll need a jam for maximum enjoyment. There are three noise canceling modes: low, high and ambient.
In low mode, some sounds are muted, but it’s not particularly effective – although increasing the volume of the song will cause some sounds to pass through the headphones. High mode mutes almost all audio. With noise cancellation alone, sounds and voices are muffled.
If you turn on music along with High mode, you will hear nothing but music. It’s a great option to put on your headphones and sit down to work without getting distracted from everything else. Just make sure not to scare you so easily because you won’t hear someone approaching behind you.
Ambient mode lets you hear sounds similar to voices, but eliminates things like road noise and cymbal clinking.
Not sure which mode you are in? Do not worry. When you switch between modes, a voice prompt tells you which mode is active.
Functionality
The Tribit QuietPlus 78 has an impressive feature set. There are four main buttons on the front panel: volume up and down, a multifunction button (MFB), and an ANC / Ambient button.
Each button has several functions. The volume up button not only increases the volume on the headset, but if you press and hold it for two seconds, it skips to the next track in your playlist or streaming service. The same thing happens with the volume down button, except for skipping to the previous track.
When music is playing, you can pause and resume playback by quickly pressing the MFB button. You can also answer or end the call by pressing the same button. If you want to reject the call, press and hold the MFB for a few seconds.
The QuietPlus 78 headphones are designed for use with the iPhone. Pressing the MFB button twice activates Siri. If you press the volume up and down buttons at the same time, you can redial the last dialed number.
Comfort
The ear pads themselves are soft and fit snugly against the head, but the case seems a little cramped. For the average person, the QuietPlus 78 will be fine for extended wear, but if you have a larger head it can get a little uncomfortable.
One notable feature is that when you switch between noise canceling modes, the volume is automatically adjusted to protect your hearing.
The Tribit QuietPlus 78 is a robust set of mid-range noise canceling headphones priced at $ 80. These headphones won’t win an award for sound quality, but this is by no means a bad set of headphones. Tribit Quietplus 78 reduces background noise, eliminates distractions and delivers clear sound on the go.
