The 5 Best Budget Android Tablets

There is no doubt that premium tablets are on Apple’s side when it comes to tablets. Unfortunately, even with the release of cheaper iPads, these are still very expensive devices.

The good news is that the best budget Android tablets can offer you most of what premium devices have to offer, if you can live with some trade-offs here and there. We believe that tablets under $ 300 are in the budget category and are going to highlight them from the most affordable to the most premium.

Affordable Media Tablet: Fire 7 Tablet – $ 49.99

There are two Amazon Fire tablets on this list, and as many will point out, these aren’t just Android tablets. Amazon uses a modified version of Android for its tablets, but you don’t get access to the Google Play Store or the settings that most Android users like. That being said, if you really want to, there are ways to get Google Play on your Fire tablet.

So why bother at all? The answer is simple: you won’t find a better-spec tablet at this price with the support and build quality that Amazon provides. Amazon can offer such tablets at these prices because you become part of their content ecosystem. If you’re happy with that, it’s more than a fair deal.

Looking at the Fire 7 itself, for fifty bucks this is a lot of a tablet. A 7-inch tablet can hardly be considered a tablet these days, as many smartphones lack that number. And yet, you won’t find a decent smartphone of this size at this price.

With such a (relatively) small screen, the Fire 7 is best suited as an affordable device for consuming content. Music, movies and e-books will work fine. Casual games without 3D graphics should also be fun, but comics are rarely fun at this screen size.

If you only have $ 50 to spend on a smart device, this is the best budget Android tablet we think you can buy.

Fire HD 10 Tablet – $ 149.99

The second option for the best budget Android tablet on our list is the Fire HD 10. The 32GB model retails for $ 149.99. A great proposition for a 10.1-inch tablet. This new model is equipped with an octa-core processor, up to 12 hours of battery life, dual-band Wi-Fi and USB-C

That’s impressive for twice the price, but the 1080p screen on the Fire HD 10 has been designed specifically to match the aspect ratio of most video content today. That is 16: 9. This model of Fire tablet can also go into Show Mode. This essentially makes it work like an Amazon Show Alexa device.

Of course, the real quality of the screen, speakers and case should be considered in terms of price. None of this is premium, but if you want an entertainment tablet (or three), we recommend starting with this.

Lenovo Smart Tab P10 With Alexa – $ 249.99

Lenovo has a reputation for making quality tablets and laptops, and the P10 is no different in that regard. Its budget price means you won’t get top-tier specs, but it’s a well-balanced machine all things considered.

This particular kit is notable for the inclusion of a speaker charging dock with Dolby Atmos technology. So you can put your tablet in it and listen to music, watch videos, and use it as an Alexa device in Show Mode.

The P10’s specs are pretty decent. The SnapDragon 450 octa-core chip and Adreno 506 GPU are perfect for the mid-range. 3GB LPDDR is also fine for most moderate multitasking applications. Also, surprisingly at this price, there is a fingerprint sensor

Aside from the four speakers, the dock also has three far-field microphones, which means you really get the Alexa Show experience included in the price. Lenovo intends to use it as a family entertainment tablet. From this point of view, it’s great.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 64 GB Wifi Tablet Silver (2019) – 279.99

The 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab A is as close to competing as the entry-level iPad as possible. It has incredibly thin bezels and a large, bright, colorful screen. The image is accompanied by built-in Dolby Atmos speakers, and you can expand your storage by adding up to 512GB of SD memory.

We highly recommend the 64GB (or 128GB) model instead of the 32GB because these two higher tier models have extra GB of RAM The price difference is worth it. While the Exynos 7904A isn’t going to compete with Apple’s silicon, it’s not the same as saying it’s not fast enough for most people.

The Tab A 10.1 is a great all-round tablet for both work and play, and at this point we don’t think there is a top overall pick for under $ 300. Add to that the build quality and components that Samsung is renowned for, and it’s a simple recommendation.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 ? with S Pen 4G LTE (2019) $ 286.00

It might seem odd that this 8 “Samsung tablet is worth more than the 10.1” computer we just reviewed. Apart from the small display, however, the Tab A 8 ”has some pretty impressive features.

First is the 4G LTE model. Not only can it be used with mobile data, but you can also make and receive calls on GSM (the global standard for mobile cellular communications) networks. Unfortunately, it does not support CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access), so check your own service type before purchasing. So it is essentially an 8-inch phone as much as a tablet. What’s more, it comes with Samsung S Pen. So if you’re an entertainer or like taking notes, this is a great machine to work with.

As for the victims, you only get a mono speaker. There is no fingerprint sensor either, but this is not surprising. The cameras are fine, but with 3GB of RAM and an octa-core processor, it’s a trade-off for the best. This is just a mid-range Snapdragon, so don’t expect this to be a gaming beast. But everyday entertainment and productivity shouldn’t be an issue.

The Tab A also has an IP68 rating – another feature you’d expect from a phone, not a tablet. Thanks to its IP68 rating, it is essentially waterproof and dustproof! It is truly a device that blurs the line between smartphone and tablet.

If you can live with an 8-inch screen, we can easily recommend it as one of the best budget Android tablets under $ 300 on the market.
