Reset Forgotten Passwords in SBI Online Banking.
As technology improves, many services are becoming online. This means that we now have to track multiple online accounts. And under such pressure, it is not surprising if you forget the password for one of these services.
Now, unlike other services, resetting your online banking password is not easy. You will need to verify a few personal details, often the OTP is sent to your registration number and sometimes you even need to visit a branch.
But this is for your own good. Banks deliberately make password recovery difficult. Because if your passwords fall into the wrong hands, you are doomed.
So if you have forgotten your SBI online banking username or password, then this post is for you. Or you can also watch the video tutorial below.
So let’s get started
SBI Online Banking has two types of passwords –
- login password
- profile password
Let’s see how to reset them.
Case 1. I forgot my login password
# 1 On the main login page, click the link that reads: forget login passwords.
Here I am using screenshots from SBBJ online banking, but will also work for all 5 banks in the state bank group. The basic concept is the same.
# 2 Next, verify your account by entering your username, date of birth, account number and mobile number. Then click “Submit”.
# 3 You will receive a verification code to your registration number. Enter this and confirm.
# 4 You will now see two options – reset with or without a profile password.
Choose the first option, that is, remember your profile password and click “Send”.
But if you do not remember both the login and the password of the profile, you will have to visit your bank. They can give you a new internet bundle, or they can do it from their side, it differs from branch to branch.
# 5 After confirming the profile password, enter a new login password and save the changes. That’s all. You have successfully changed your password.
Case 2: I forgot my profile password
Follow the steps
# 1 Log into your account.
# 2 Go to the profile section where you will need to enter your profile password
# 3 Now, since you do not remember your profile password, click on the link that says you forgot your internet banking password
# 4 Answer the prompt
# 5 Now enter your new profile password and a new hint question. And you’re done.
Can I change my username in Internet Banking?
Yes, you can (and should) change your password. To do this, go to your profile section and look for password change.
Sometimes (as in my case) you might run into a problem when logging into your account from a new internet kit. In this case, contact the bank branch and wait 24 hours after issuing a new Internet kit.
