Delete Photos & Videos On iCloud.com
Going directly to the Apple iCloud site to get rid of photos is a little more difficult than deleting them from your iPhone or iPad. It’s well worth the effort as it only deletes photos from your iCloud storage without deleting them from your iOS device. This frees up space in iCloud, allowing you to store your photos on your iPhone or iPad.
- Open the Safari web browser.
- Enter icloud.com in the address bar.
- Enter your Apple ID credentials.
- Select an icon for photos.
- Select the photo or video you want to delete by clicking the thumbnail. You can also select multiple photos or videos by holding down the Command key and selecting the thumbnails of the media you want to delete.
- Click the Delete button in the upper right corner.
- Select Remove.
Deleted photos and videos are uploaded to the Recently Deleted album, where they are kept for 30 days before being permanently deleted. To delete photos or videos right away, go to the Recently Deleted album, select the items you want to delete, and click Delete. Photos will be deleted immediately and permanently.
Why You Should Delete Photos From iCloud
Apple iCloud storage is useful for backing up your photos or videos in case your phone is damaged or broken. Each Apple user is allocated 2GB of iCloud storage, but Apple offers additional storage for a small monthly fee. If you take a lot of photos with your iPhone or iPad, you will eventually run out of space and be forced to delete those silly selfies and blurry shots that you no longer need.
The ability to delete photos from iCloud is critical to managing this limited resource. This is not so difficult to do. And once you’ve done it a few times, you can easily manage your iCloud storage and never worry about running out of space anymore.
