The streets are deserted and the city is entering its third day of isolation. It’s like a scene from the movie I Am Legend, and every time I leave my apartment, I feel closer to the post-apocalyptic world. Well, don’t imagine me as Will Smith (at least not yet), but this quarantine got me interested in the post-apocalyptic genre again. So, whether you are watching it alone or with friends, here is a list of pandemic movies you can watch on Netflix right now!
Epidemiological movies on Netflix
1. Pandemic
Pandemic: How to Prevent an Outbreak is a documentary series unusually relevant to the present day. The six-part series on the world’s preparedness to fight a new pandemic begins with the theory that the world is fast approaching a deadly virus. The dire similarities between the show and the current situation of healthcare workers dying while treating stricken patients, overworked doctors and overcrowded hospitals in underdeveloped and developing countries is a real test of the healthcare system in different countries.
As far as possible, Pandemic is an instructive, informative and unusual performance.

2. 93 days
Directed by Steve Gukas , it’s based on a true story. 93 Days brings us back to the 2014 Ebola outbreak. While the story revolves around how it happened to the Liberian American diplomat who arrived in Nigeria and the heroic attempt by medical professionals to contain her. In one word, I would say that the film is bold and demonstrates the altruistic spirit that everyone should harbor in times of disaster. It is also believed to be a tribute to Stella A Dadevo, who is believed to have played a key role in containing the spread of Ebola in Nigeria.
This may not be for everyone, as it may seem slow to some. Provided that it is based on real events and emotions, and not on nervous scenes.
Genre: Drama, Thriller
Duration: 118 min.

3. (This next epidemic) explained
If you like the content that VOX Media produces, Explained is another series they’ve created available on Netflix. Although there are 2 seasons in total, I will talk about this episode of the second season that piqued my interest, called “The Next Pandemic”. This particular episode discusses global pandemics and how they spread. With the arrival of Bill Gates, where he discussed the first of these pandemics with other experts. As the name suggests (explained), this gives you an insight into not only the history and what a pandemic is, but also new methods of possible prevention.
“If something kills more than 10 million people in the next few decades, it will most likely be a highly contagious virus, not a war – not missiles, but germs” – Bill Gates (TED Talk) “

4. Doomsday Preppers
Better to be ready than wait and suffer, right? This reality show, originally hosted by National Geographic, demonstrates just that. 5. Hell
Dante defined our concept of hell 700 years ago, but these circles of hell were rebuilt
Tom Hanks’ damn line from Inferno was enough for me to re-watch this film during this “endless†isolation. Inferno, directed by Ron Howard, is based on the book of the same name by Dan Brown. “Hell” with Tom Hanks and Felicity Jones unfolds a plot about overpopulation, artificial plague and amnesia.
Robert Langdon and Sienna Brooks, played by Hanks and Jones respectively, try to control this plague, unleashed by Dr. Bertrand Zobrist, a mad scientist obsessed with solving the problem of world population. To find out more about it, go and see this brilliant adaptation. And another benefit – our favorite actor Irrfan Khan has a small role too, which definitely steals the stage.
Genre: Mystic
Duration: 121 min.
IMDb rating 6.2 | See Inferno
6. 12 monkeys
12 Monkeys is a 1995 film that shows the spread of a deadly virus in 1996 by the Army of Twelve Monkeys. Ultimately, the virus wipes out most of the world’s population, forcing the survivors to live underground. The film is a science fiction film in which the main character is forced to travel in time to find the source of the virus and develop a cure. Directed by Terry Gilliam, this film is a visual treat with a gripping storyline.

7. Mobile carriers
Carrier is a film in which four friends seek refuge to escape a deadly virus that has spread throughout the world and killed most of the population. The story revolves around the escape and the subsequent spread of a dangerous virus among a group of friends. While for many it is a captivating doomsday drama, for others it is not attractive enough with an unsatisfying ending.

8. He comes at night
“Fear turns people into monsters”? Well, you will know your answer at the end of this pandemic. But before that, you should definitely watch The Night by the well-known director Trey Edward Schultz. This post-apocalyptic psychological thriller will leave you nerve-wracked and overwhelmed. “It Comes at Night†is about a married couple and their teenage son. The plague has apparently destroyed humanity, and the last remaining man will do anything to protect his family, but the main character Travis, a teenage boy, wants a world outside of this post-apocalyptic environment. Therefore, when a young couple with their child comes and lives with the Travis family, the chain of events is broken.
Check out this less-than-typical horror game and be prepared for a few jumps here and there. Also watch out for the red door.

Based on the documentary book by Richard Preston The Hot Zone . The Flash is a film by directed by Wolfgang Petersen . This is a virus that originated in the African jungle in 1967 and which was eventually contained by destroying the epicenter of the American army . But that’s not all. He returns in 1995, but through primates who will be smuggled into the United States. What the film propels is its focus and the perspective of such diseases lurking in distant places only to find a way to infiltrate our daily lives and influence us. In any case, watch the movie and try to stay calm, as even a mild cough can make you uncomfortable.
Genre: Thriller

IMDb Rating 6.6 | Watch TV series
10. The black mirror
With six Emmy awards, Black Mirror is the show that hooked me from the start with its dystopian storyline. Created by Charlie Brooker , it gives us humans the opportunity to test the reality of how ignorant and isolated we have become to the outside world. The entire series is aimed at a myriad of countless areas, but if I have to offer a must-watch episode, I’ll go for Fifteen Million Merits, starring Daniel Kaluuya, where people spend most of their time in high definition. technical closed environment.
While we’re not as obsessed with technology as the episode’s storyline, it has a lot in common with modern “work from home†culture, and perhaps we’ve reached a point where the desperate need to make money is driving us to work. everyday at home.
Genre: Science fiction and fantasy.
Duration: 62 min.
IMDb Rating 8.1 | Watch “Black Mirror”
