How to Watch Prime Video with Friends Online.
Amazon recently launched a new feature that allows you to watch Prime Video content with your friends using Twitch. Since this is not just a screen sharing, the process is not entirely smooth.
Before we get started, there are a few things to keep in mind. For example, both the streamer and the viewer need an active Prime Video subscription to participate, otherwise it will simply be piracy. The Prime Video catalog also differs by region, so if you live in the US and want to watch something exclusively available in the UK this won’t work. Also, this currently only works from a computer. Now that all of this is cleared up, let’s get down to business.
Step 1: Create a Twitch account
First of all, you will need a Twitch account, if you don’t already have one, quickly create one. Go to twitch.tv and create a new account by clicking the register button. Enter details and enter your email address for verification.

Step 2: Install Twitch studio beta
Since you can only stream from the desktop app, we need to install the app on the computer first. Click this link to download the beta version of Twitch Studio to your computer. Alternatively, you can click your profile icon in the upper right corner Control Panel for Creator click the download button under the middle option, which reads Get Streaming Software.
You can use other streaming apps like OBS and set them up with a Twitch stream key too, but for the sake of simplicity, I’ve chosen the Twitch studio beta. After downloading the beta version of Twitch studio. Install it on your computer like you install any other Windows or Mac application. I would use a Mac for this article, but the steps are exactly the same once you enter the application.
Launch the app and sign in with your Twitch credentials. It usually gets credentials if you are logged in to your web browser, but if not, you can do it manually.
It’s time to set up your streaming app. Click the “Start” button to continue.
You will need permission to access your webcam, microphone, and system audio. Grant permissions by clicking the buttons next to each item.
While it is very easy to grant permissions for the camera and microphone, you will need one more to stream successfully. Open the Settings app on your computer and go to the Security & Privacy section. Go to the Privacy tab and enable Twitch Studio in the Screen Recording section.
Click Pad Lock at the bottom left to save your changes.
Step 3: start the live broadcast
Now go back to the Twitch Studio app on your computer and click the “Start Streaming†button at the bottom of the window.
This will show you a preview of how everything will look. Here you can check if the microphone and camera are working. After everything is checked, click the “Go Live” button.
Step 4: set up your broadcast group
Now go back to the Twitch website in your web browser and click the profile icon in the top right corner of the page. Select the Creator Dashboard from the dropdown list.
From the Creator toolbar, select Stream Manager from the left panel and click the big + button on the right side of the page.
Above you will find the “Start Watch Party” quick action. Click the Add button.
Step 5: start the watch party
Since the Twitch stream runs in the background, we pick the movie or show you want to watch with your friends. On the Twitch website, click Start Watch Party in the right pane.
It will ask you to connect your Amazon account to Twitch. Do this by clicking the “Login” button.
A pop-up window will open in which you must enter your Amazon Prime Video account credentials. After verifying your credentials, allow Twitch to access the content library from your account.
You can now search for shows on Prime Video right from your Twitch website dashboard. I decided to broadcast season 2 of The Boys.
After selecting a series, click the “Start Watching” button to start broadcasting.
Now, just ask your friends to tune in to your Twitch stream to start watching the content. Obviously, they will first need to connect their Amazon account to their Twitch.
Your Twitch Stream URL

When you open your Twitch stream in a web browser, it will look something like the image below, and they can start watching by clicking the Start Watching button.
Enjoy!
Last words
This is a legal way to host an online movie party on Twitch without being DMCA marked. However, there is one big caveat: you cannot watch Watch Party on a mobile device. Although Amazon has promised that it will be available “in the coming months,†you will have to get by with this method for now. What do you think of this method, let me know below?
