How to use PS5 web browser in hidden Mode?.
The Sony PlayStation 5 is an impressive device capable of displaying PS5 games at 4K resolution and 120fps, but did you know it has a hidden web browser? This means that, like the Xbox Series X, the PlayStation 5 can surf the web, albeit to a somewhat limited extent.
The PS5’s built-in web browser works fine with text, but sometimes there are issues with images and videos. It also doesn’t work well when streaming music through services like Spotify. The web browser is only accessible via a workaround in the PS5’s system settings menu.
How to Access the Hidden PS5 Web Browser
One day, Sony may make the internet browser available directly from the PlayStation menu, just like on earlier devices. For now, the only way to access it is a workaround.
Press the PlayStation button on your controller.
1 – Select Settings.
2 – Select Users and Accounts.
3 – Select Link to other services > Twitter.
4- Select Link Account on the confirmation screen that appears.
5- Select the Twitter logo in the top left corner to go to the desktop login screen and sign in to your Twitter account.
Once you are logged into your Twitter account, you can browse the web to check other sites. The main limitation of the PS5 web browser is that you can’t type URLs into the search bar, meaning the only way to navigate the web is by clicking links. If you want to surf the web on PS5, you need to select links in messages.

What Can You Do With The PS5 Web Browser?
The PlayStation 5 web browser is a cool hidden feature, but it’s impractical for actual web browsing. Not being able to type in URLs means it’s limited from the start, but it also lacks much of the programming that makes traditional web browsers useful.
With that in mind, there’s a lot more you can do, some of which might surprise you. According to tests, you can download some (but maybe not all) Vimeo videos through the web player. Considering how unusual Vimeo videos are in the current YouTube era, this isn’t a particularly useful feature.

One (incredible) feature is the ability to run emulators, but only JavaScript-based emulators. You can run these emulators through a web browser, which means you can play older SNES games directly on your PlayStation 5. Keep in mind that browser-based online games that require libraries such as WebGL will not work through the web. While there’s no reason to, you can use Google Docs through the PlayStation 5’s web browser. At the very least, you can type characters, but you can’t type. You won’t be writing the next great American novel with a PlayStation 5 controller, but you can use a web browser to keep track of PlayStation 5 backlogs. Simply enter the special character next to a completed list to keep track of it.
The PS5 web browser has an options menu. You can clear web data, prevent tracking cookies on various services, turn JavaScript on and off, turn cookies on and off, and more. You can even delete cookies. It seems strange that Sony included this menu in the PlayStation 5 if the company didn’t expect users to access a web browser.
Does PS5 Have a Featureless Browser?
The PlayStation 4 had a web browser. It’s possible that the PlayStation 5 web browser isn’t fully implemented yet, and Sony plans to make it more fully functional in the future. On the other hand, Sony may prefer the PlayStation 5 to be a more dedicated gaming console to compete with the Xbox Series X.
The DualSense controller isn’t the easiest way to navigate the web. Whereas the PlayStation 5 supports a wide range of mice and keyboards, but only for certain games. The PlayStation 5 web browser does not support the mouse and keyboard. Well, that’s not entirely true – it does support a USB mouse, but only if the PS5 web browser is accessed in a certain way via War Thunder, at least according to PSU.com.
Is There Future For PS5 Web Browsing?
Will there be a better web browser in the future? Most likely not. According to a translated interview with some Sony executives, the company does not see the web browser as a necessary addition to the game console and offers too many hacking opportunities. For now, all users can do is hope, and there are many, as many people on Reddit have spoken about their desire to have an improved web browser on the console.
