How to Use Firestick with Monitors without HDMI Port?.
The Firestick has many great features in a tiny device, and that’s one of the reasons I’ve bought several of them for the various TVs in the house. However, I didn’t realize that the TV (technically a monitor) in the kitchen doesn’t have an HDMI port. Instead, it has a VGA and DVI port, so I ordered several of these to see which works best. Here is a list of all the ways to connect the Firestick if your monitor doesn’t have an HDMI port. Let’s start.
the problem
All Firesticks have an HDMI male port, and my monitor has a VGA female and a DVI female port. Since these ports are incompatible with each other, there are certainly off-the-shelf products known as adapters that will literally help you bridge the gap. They are readily available on Amazon but can be confusing as they all look the same. So I narrowed it down and listed all the products below.
1. HDMI to VGA adapter
You can mix up the orientation and buy the wrong adapter. Since Firestick has an HDMI male port and the VGA port on my monitor is a female port. We need an adapter of exactly this configuration. HDMI female port and VGA male port. You can buy this HDMI to VGA adapter from Amazon or something similar to the image below. Since VGA does not carry audio, there is a separate 3.5mm jack that can be used to connect speakers. You will also have to plug the USB port into the USB port of your monitor or smartphone charger.

2. HDMI to DVI adapter
Like VGA, most DVI ports only carry video, and you will need an adapter that outputs video through the DVI port and audio through the 3.5mm audio jack. I found a $ 25 adapter on Amazon that works really well in our situation and also has an audio port.
