How to Update iTunes or iCloud Credit Card Info.
If you need to update a credit card that’s stored in your iTunes or iCloud account, you’ve probably figured out by now that you can’t do this from your iPhone or Mac. You can change the “secondary†payment method, but not the primary one, which is used for family exchange.
When you visit Apple’s website, you are prompted to download iTunes and use this method to update your credit card information. If you don’t already have iTunes installed, this is a pretty big job. Luckily, you can also update your credit card information through your web browser. In this post, I will show you both methods.
Update credit card information online
The easiest way to do this is to visit appleid.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID credentials. If you use different Apple IDs for iCloud and iTunes, you’ll have to sign in to each one separately and follow the same procedure twice.
Scroll down to the “Account”, “Security” and “Devices” section and you should see “Payment and Shipping”.

Click on “Change Billing Information” and you can now change your credit card information as you see fit. This is by far the easiest way to update your credit card information for your Apple account.
Update credit card via iTunes
Open iTunes on your Mac or PC, then click Account in the top navigation bar. If you’re not signed in yet, click Sign In and sign in with your Apple ID credentials.
Then hit Account again and this time you’ll see a few more options. One of them should be “View my account”.
Now in the payment information section you will see the “Change” button next to the “Payment type” field.
Click on this link and you can update your credit card information on file. It’s not hard either, but it requires installing iTunes, which most people don’t need these days.
Update credit card via iPhone
Alternatively, you can upgrade an additional credit card through your phone, but not the one used for Family Sharing. To do this, go to “Settings” and click on your name at the very top above “Airplane mode”.
Here you can click on “Payment and delivery”. It will also tell you how many cards are currently active.
As you can see, the map that you can edit has a small arrow on the right. The shared credit card must be renewed via iTunes or online.
Card information update via Mac OS X
As with the iPhone, you can upgrade an additional credit card, but not the one used for family sharing. Click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the toolbar and select System Preferences.
Click on iCloud and then click on Account Information when the pop-up appears. You may need to re-enter your iCloud password to proceed to the next screen.
On the next screen click on the Payments tab and you will see the same list of credit cards that we have already seen. Again, you can only edit the one with the Details button next to it.
So, these are all the methods I could find to edit your credit card information for iTunes and iCloud! Hope this gets you where you need to go. Enjoy!
