How to Turn Your iPhone into iPod.turn iphone into ipod.
Nostalgia is a new trend in technology. From MKBHD, which started with Retro Tech, to Motorola with the new foldable Razer, it is back. In my opinion, one of these devices, which laid the foundation for early music, is the iPod. Honestly, if I were still given the ability to play music using the neat iPod interface and a whopping 160GB of storage, I could listen to music my whole life without ever playing the same track again (okay, kidding).
Whatever the reason, you can get the iPod classic from the marketplace, or if you don’t want two devices, follow me and use your phone as a new iPod. So how do you do it?

It can be downloaded from the Apple App Store. Once you open the app, you will be asked to grant permission to access Apple Music, that is, music, videos, and media library.
You can either upload your own interface or choose an image to be used as the controller interface. If you don’t really want these fancy things, you can stick with a very simple interface, but that will take away the ability to use your phone as an iPod. Now moving on to the basic look, if you want an iPod interface, you can achieve this by applying a skin to the interface.

Skins
Basically, this is the physical part of the original iPod, which is a control wheel used to switch and select. Here in the app, the skin basically replaces that. You have two options for downloading the skin, of which Twitter and Weibo. Clicking on Twitter will take you to a page full of themes to use by clicking on the image and choosing “Add to Photos” . Once you do this, you will receive the message “ Add cover from photos †again. Just click, open “Photos” and select the uploaded image. It will replace the base interface and add a customizable steering wheel to it.
You can also choose any random image from the photos, but chances are you won’t be able to get all the keys to work. As in the image below, I used a Techwiser image that worked, but the other didn’t quite work. So this is a hit and miss for custom images, and it may not work in all cases.
Attention! The app might crash or you find that some keys don’t work. The solution is to restart the application. If you still can’t get around this, try selecting only the basic iPod skin so the keys work and appear automatically.
Settings
The best thing about the iPod Classic is its scrolling ability, which not only made music learning easier, but it was also fun to keep playing with the Click Wheel. So when you enable scroll-based navigation combined with Haptik feedback, it gives you an iPod feel, or maybe even a little better.
Dark Mode is a standard feature for applications and it is there too. Plus, you can set the playlist to repeat, choose from a variety of themes like blue, forest green, magenta, and more. There is the option to close the winding navigation, change the skin, and even share the skin with others.
Interface layout
There is a chance that your skins will not work or may not respond to keystrokes, in which case the solution may be to customize with Layout Interface . To be clearer with this feature, I suggest you don’t choose a custom skin, but stick to a simple interface. Go to settings and click on layout interface.
When you change the layout, you will notice how the keys change on the screen. Thus, every time you assign a new custom skin, changing the layout can cause the desired keys to appear under the shell. Above are various layouts that you can choose from to give you an idea of the future.

Conclusion
This app is a way to satisfy your nostalgia, and yes! A fair replacement for your boring music player. It is still in development and has many drawbacks such as inability to handle themes, lack of keys. Also, at the moment you can only access your Apple Music playlist, which is a big limitation for me. There’s Spotify as well, but I don’t think I will be able to use this feature anytime soon. This app is nostalgic more than anything else and is worth trying. It is minimal and does what it says.
