In addition, each of the transfer options available for transferring text messages from iPhone to Android will depend on the make and model of Android phone. Some Android phones may require an adapter or cable, while others may only work with third-party tools.
How to Transfer Text Messages from iPhone to Android
Before you can move your text messages, it’s important to keep a backup in case your phone stops working during file transfers.
You can back up iPhone messages or access the Samsung Cloud and use it to restore the backup to your Android phone.
You can use a USB-OTG cable and Smart Switch, Quick Switch adapter for Google phones, or third-party tools to transfer text messages from iPhone to Android phone.
Text messaging with OTG Connector & Smart Switch
On a Samsung Galaxy phone, you can use the OTG jack that came with the phone, connect it to the iPhone, and then launch Smart Switch to send text messages.
Smart Switch makes it easy to transfer all content from iPhone to Galaxy phone.
The first step is to make sure your text messages are ready to be transferred by syncing your iPhone with iCloud.
- To do this, go to Settings on your iPhone, tap your Apple ID> iCloud.
- Turn on messages.
- Launch Smart Switch on your Android phone (Samsung Galaxy) and then click Get Data.
- Then tap iPhone / iPad.
- Sign in to iCloud on the next screen, enter your verification code and click OK. Select the text message file in iCloud and click Import.

This OTG adapter can connect the USB Pixel port to your iPhone so you can transfer media files, contacts, call logs, and messages to your Android device. The adapter supports Pixel phones and devices running iOS 8 or higher, or Android 5.0 or higher.
- To use the Quick Switch adapter, connect your Pixel and iPhone together and click Start on the Pixel to start over, or copy data from your iPhone.
- Select Next to copy data from your existing device, then connect both phones with your iPhone’s compatible USB or Lightning cable.

How to use a third-party app to move text messages
If you can’t use Smart Switch or Google Phones Fast Switch Adapter, you can use a third-party iPhone to Android messaging solution.
To get started, connect your iPhone to your PC or Mac, launch iTunes, and back up your iPhone.
- Open the iTunes backup folder on your PC or Mac, and then find the folder that ends with ( -YearMonthDay-HourMinuteSecond ) . This is the backup you created for your iPhone.
- Go to the 3d folder for your messages and find the file 3d0d7e5fb2ce288813306e4d4636395e047a3d28 that represents your messages. Optionally, you can rename the file for easier identification and then copy it using USB, email, or cloud storage for transfer to your Android phone. However, if you leave the filename as it is, iSMS2droid will automatically find the files instead of prompting you to select them manually.
- Then install and open iSMS2droid on your Android phone. You may need to temporarily switch your messaging app for iSMS2droid to work and then select Import Messages to transfer text messages from iPhone to Android.
