But there are easier and faster ways to transfer your texts, call logs, photos, videos, music and contacts to your new Android phone, making the process much easier.

- Have at least 500MB of free internal storage space for your old and new phone.

- Make sure both phones have Smart Switch by going to Settings> Accounts & Backup

- When the devices are close to each other, press to open Smart Switch and select Get Data to New Phone.
- Then select your old device by clicking the Galaxy / Android option.

- Connect two phones with a USB cable and USB-C connector to your new phone. Change the USB setting on your old phone to MTP (multimedia device).
- Press “Accept†on your old phone when you see “Accept invitation to connect†on your new phone.
- Then go to the Smart Switch interface on your old phone and select Cable.
- On the new phone, click Get Data.
- Now that the two phones are connected via USB, you can navigate to the new phone and select the items you want to transfer, then click “Transfer†to start the transfer process.

- You will see a list of devices you can pair with. Find your old and new phone and pair them with each other. If you don’t see any of them, click Scan to find available devices. If a password is required, it will appear on the screens of both devices, so make sure they match before clicking Pair.
- Open the Files app on your old phone, select all files. if you want to switch to a new phone, tap Share and select Bluetooth as the sharing method.
- Confirm the file sharing on your new Android phone and the transfer process will begin. The time it takes to complete will depend on how much data you transfer between devices.
When the transfer is complete, unpair the devices by tapping Settings next to paired devices and selecting Unpair.
