How to Take Attendance on Google Meet.
Google Meet is one of the most used video conferencing apps, but it doesn’t have a built-in feature to track attendance. Fortunately, there are many Chrome extensions that can help you. Among other things, I prefer Meet Attendance. Once installed, this Chrome extension automatically creates a spreadsheet with all the names of the people who were present and also gives you the times when they joined and left. Here’s how you can use it.

How to attend Google Meet
To get started, open the Chrome Web Store, search for Meet Attendance, and click the Apple logo extension created by Claycodes.org. Or you can directly open Meet Attendance from this link.
Now click the Add to Chrome button and then click and then click the Add Extension button in the pop-up window.
The extension will be disabled and grayed out by default as it only works in the Google Meet app. This way, you can be sure that the extension does not collect any data when you are on other sites. And there is no need for pre-configuration to get started with the extension.
Just open Google Meet and start a meeting. And that’s it, it will create a spreadsheet with all the people who joined the meeting, as well as their time. You can access the spreadsheet by clicking on the people option and then you will see a new icon that looks like a clipboard. Just click this icon to view the table. You can even check out this spreadsheet on the Google Sheets website.
By default, this extension will include all of your appointments for your day in a single spreadsheet with the time at the top, a link to the meeting, and then all the names of the people who attended that meeting.
Either way, you can change the options by hovering over the clipboard icon, but the options are a little awkward and confusing. You can see 4 options and this is what they do.
When you click the first (+) button, a new sheet will be created in the same spreadsheet and tracking from there.
The second icon (+) will create a new table and start tracking on that table. The first horizontal switch will stop tracking people. Useful if you want to stop latecomers from visiting.
The second switch does nothing. Yes, you understood me correctly.
Even though the options look confusing due to the lack of shortcuts, you can easily get used to them.
Packaging
There are other Google Meet attendance apps such as Google Meet Attendance and Meet Attendance Collector. Which are not fully automated and you need to manually track the attendance. And their UI is more confusing, and they don’t match the Meet UI.
