I recently bought an Xbox 360 Elite and I love it as hell! The games are amazing and the Xbox Live subscription is amazing. However, besides games, there are many other things you can do with the Xbox 360.
For example, you can stream HD videos, music, and pictures from your home PC to your Xbox to watch on your TV. So if streaming Netflix to Xbox isn’t enough for you, setting up video streaming to Xbox from PC is very easy.
There are actually several different ways to stream videos to Xbox, but I will only talk about setting up Windows Media Player. For me, this is the easiest and best option.
Set up Windows Media Player for Xbox Streaming
To set up Windows Media Player to stream videos, pictures, and music, follow these steps:
1. Open Window Media Player and go to Tools and then Options. If there is no menu, press the ALT key first.

2. In the Options dialog box, click the Library tab and you should see a section for sharing and the folders to track:
3. Click the Set Up Sharing button and make sure your Xbox 360 is turned on. You should now see it listed. Click the Share My Media button to enable sharing.
4. Now click the Xbox 360 icon in the list and click the Allow button. As you can see, my Xbox is already allowed to access media on this PC. I have two icons because my original one broke and Microsoft sent me another one (that’s another story!).
After you click Allow, a green check mark appears above the icon.
5. Now click the “Customize” button to customize what you want to share with Xbox. You can share music, pictures and videos, ratings, and more. Your best bet is to simply select “Use default settings.”
6. Now click OK and then click OK again to return to the original Options dialog box. Now click Monitor Folders to specify which folders you want to display on Xbox 360.
7. You can select “My personal folders”, which will automatically select the “My Documents” folder and some other system folders. I chose another option to manually select which folders to track.
Just click “Add” or “Remove” to select folders with video, audio or pictures. Click OK and then click OK in the main Options dialog box. This completes the Windows Media Player setup.
8. On the Xbox console, press the green Xbox button in the center of the controller.
9. Now go to the “Media†tab and select “Musicâ€, “Pictures†or “Videosâ€.

10. The Xbox should automatically detect the Windows Media Player share on your computer and display your computer’s name.
Choose the name of your computer, and now you can view your media folders just like on your computer! This is it! Now you can stream home videos from your PC and watch them on TV using your Xbox. Enjoy!
