How to Share your WiFi without Sharing Password on Android Q.
Google has launched a developer-exclusive Android beta testing program for its latest version of the Android Q OS for all Pixel devices. For months there have been many rumors about some exciting features like a system-wide dark mode, built-in screen recording, updated privacy and app permissions, and more.
One feature I was particularly lacking was WiFi sharing with just a QR code. Other OEMs like Huawei and Xiaomi MIUI are rolling out this feature, and even iOS allows you to do this with Siri shortcuts. Android Q offers this feature in the developer beta program and it works really well. Let’s see how to share your Wi-Fi without sharing a password on Android Q.
How to share your WiFi network without sharing the password
Make sure you have installed the latest Android Q Developer Beta. At the time of this writing, it is only available for all Pixel devices, but we’ll keep you posted as new developments emerge.
First, open the app drawer and tap on the Settings app. Go to Wi-Fi settings by clicking “Network and Internet”.

Select Wi-Fi to open all available and connected networks. Tap the gear icon next to a connected network to open information.

you will see a Share and Forget button called Wi-Fi, click the Share button and it will ask for an authentication request if you have installed it. Verify your identity by verifying the biometric option, or enter your password by selecting Use an alternative method.
Once authenticated, it will generate a QR code that you can share with your friends and family without having to remember the password.

This QR code works on all devices that support QR code recognition like EMUI Huawei, MIUI Xiaomi and even iOS from Apple. Just scan the QR code on any device to connect to the network.
Connect to WiFi using QR Code on Android Q
This is how you can connect using a QR code. Go to Wi-Fi Settings in the Settings app and click Add Network. A window will open asking you to enter the SSID. Next to the SSID input field, you will see a scan button. Tap it to open the camera.
Scan the QR code with the camera and it will automatically connect to Wi-Fi.

Android Q has released a beta for developers and showcases many new features. It has not yet been released to the general public because there are no apps optimized for it. Sharing QR codes is a step in the right direction and we can hope for better versions of these features when Android Q is released to the general public.
