How To Setup The Amazon Echo Show 5.
So did you buy Echo Show 5? Excellent. The Echo Show series is a little different from its siblings, it has a touchscreen, which means you can use it not only for watching videos, but also for video calling with family and friends. However, unlike other Echo devices, you don’t need the Alexa app on your smartphone to set up the Echo Show. As long as you have Wi-Fi and 5 minutes, your echo show will be up and running in no time. Let’s set up and register Amazon Echo Show.
Register your Echo Show
Since the Echo Show has an LCD screen, it makes sense to install a stand-alone unit. Plug in the power adapter and wait for the Echo Show to load. Once this happens, you will first see the language page. Select your preferred language by touching the screen.
You will then be prompted to connect to a Wi-Fi network, select your Wi-Fi name, and tap it.
Enter the correct Wi-Fi password using the onscreen keyboard. When finished, click “Connect”.
Since you would probably buy the Echo Show on Amazon, you will need to enter your Amazon account credentials on the Echo Show in order to proceed. If you don’t have an account, follow this link to create one.
It will take some time to register your echo show and link to your account. Once that is done, we just need to make some final changes and your echo show will be ready to go. You will be prompted to give your echo show a name, you can leave it as it is.
Echo Show will need your address to provide information on weather, traffic jams, etc. If you’ve made purchases on Amazon before, it will automatically select this address. Otherwise, you can give it a new address or even skip it for a while.
Then assign an Echo Show location in your home. The most common groups are living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and so on. You can assign it a specific location around the house, such as a garage or porch.
Finally, choose a wallpaper for your screen and you’re done. You can even choose your own image from your phone and set it as wallpaper on the Echo Show.
With Echo Show connected to your Amazon account, you can simply fire up Alexa and ask things like weather, breaking news, etc.
Alternatively, you can change the photo background, clock, theme, and more by going to settings in the Alexa app on your phone or directly on your device. More on this soon.
