How to Set Up a Ring Doorbell.
A smart doorbell is your first line of home security. It informs you about any visitors, deliveries or passers-by and allows you to react accordingly. You can even link its motion detection to other smart devices in your home to turn on the lights, turn on the siren, and more.
Ring Doorbell is one of the most popular video doorbells on the market. The company has a proven track record of outstanding security, innovative features and high definition video streaming. The installation process can be a little intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. This guide will show you how to set up your Ring Video doorbell.

After completing the doorbell setup, Ring Doorbell will automatically download and install all available updates. In doing so, the app will tell you how to physically install the doorbell with a step-by-step guide. You can follow this guide or skip it.
If you follow the guide, it will demonstrate where to drill holes and how to place a mounting bracket to attach the doorbell to a wall or door. It also shows you how to wire the Ring to your doorbell’s wiring if you want to hook it up to your home’s electrical outlet.
After the Setup
After training, you will be able to choose whether to invite shared users to the doorbell. Here you could invite family members to download the app and get access. You will then be prompted to add linked devices; in other words, other Ring devices such as doorbells and cameras that you have installed in your home.
If you already have a doorbell, you will be asked if you want to connect it. You will then be prompted to optimize the motion detection on the doorbell. You can skip all of this and come back to them later, and you can change your settings at any time through the Ring app.
Setting up a video doorbell is a relatively simple process – just a few steps. Once set up, it seamlessly integrates with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant smart home platforms. While it doesn’t officially work with Apple HomeKit, there are unofficial ways to connect it. However, do so at your own risk as these methods are not tested or endorsed by Ring.
