How to Repair Any Version of Microsoft Office

I have previously written articles about Microsoft Office, such as how to fix the Word that has stopped working error and how to fix the error in Outlook. However, there are times when the problem is more than just a single application problem and you need to repair the entire Office suite.

All versions of Office can be restored the same way using the Programs and Features tool in Control Panel. To do this, click “Control Panel” in the “Start” menu.

How to fix the office

The Programs and Features link is easier to find in Control Panel if you choose to display all tools rather than categories. To do this, select Large Icons or Small Icons from the View By drop-down list.

Click the Programs and Features link.

Find your version of Microsoft Office in the list of programs installed on your computer. Right-click the name and select Modify.

A dialog box will open where you can change the installation of Microsoft Office. You can add or remove features, repair an installation, uninstall Office, or enter a product key. Select “Repair” and click “Continue”.

In Office 2016, the first screen that appears when you click the Change button is the Repair Office dialog box. Here you have the opportunity to try a quick repair or an online repair. The online repair is convenient because it will download all the latest fixes to fix the problem.

The progress of the repair or adjustment is displayed. It can take some time.

When the configuration is complete, click Close.

On the final screen of the setup process, we recommend that you exit and restart any open Office programs. However, you may need to restart your computer. If the following dialog box appears but some programs are still open, click No and continue to close all open programs. Then restart your computer manually.

If you don’t have any open programs, you can click Yes to restart your computer immediately.

This Office recovery method is the easiest and works 99% of the time. Hopefully the issue was fixed with Office. Enjoy!
