How To Remove “Continue Watching” From Netflix

Posted on October 4, 2020 By blog_786 No Comments on How To Remove “Continue Watching” From Netflix

Continue Watching is a section on Netflix that displays shows and movies you’ve recently watched on the site. When your viewing is interrupted, you can use this section to quickly jump to your favorite shows from where you left off.

The downside to this section is that it will list even the shows you didn’t like. This is because the list includes every show in your viewing history and everything you’ve ever watched on the site.

If you don’t like this section for some reason, you can remove Continue Watching from Netflix as shown below.

Remove “Continue Watching” using the Netflix Phone app

To remove Continue Watching from Netflix, you need to remove items from your Netflix browsing history. Once you do, they will no longer list these shows in the Continue Watching section until you start playing those shows again.

  1. Launch the Netflix app on your phone and tap on the profile you use to watch your shows.

  1. Click More at the bottom of the screen.

  1. Select the Account option on the next screen.

Netflix“/>

  1. Scroll down to the bottom and find your profile in the list. Click on your profile, find the View Activity option and click View next to it.

Netflix“/>

Netflix“/>

  1. The application will inform you that the show you selected will be removed from your history.
  2. If you want to remove the entire episode from the Continue Watching section, click Hide Episode. The list will no longer display episodes from the series you selected in the “Continue Watching” line on Netflix

Netflix“/>

  1. Removing items from the Continue Browsing section will take some time, but it usually takes less than 24 hours.

Netflix“/>

Your changes will be synced across all your devices and the section is removed from your entire Netflix account.

Remove “Continue Watching” using the Netflix web version

You can also remove the Continue Watching section using Netflix for the web. This method is more ideal if you need to remove a large number of shows and movies from your browsing history.

Navigating the desktop version will greatly simplify the process.

  1. Open a new browser tab and go to the Netflix website. Sign in to your account if you are not already signed in.
  2. Click on the profile you use to view content on the site and continue.

  1. Click your profile icon in the upper right corner and select the Account option. The settings menu for your account will open.

Netflix“/>

  1. Scroll down to find your profile, click it and select View next to View Activities. You will be taken to the Netflix history page.

Netflix“/>

Netflix“/>

Since there is no show in the Continue Watching section, Netflix will delete the entire section entirely.

Use a different view to view content

One of the reasons some users choose to remove Continue Watching from Netflix is ??because they don’t want certain shows they are watching to appear on the list. If this is why you are deleting a section, you can use a different profile to achieve what you want.

Netflix keeps browsing histories of users separated by their profiles, and if you use a different profile for certain shows, those shows will not appear in the “Continue Watching” section of your main profile.

Create a new profile. On Netflix

  1. Go to the Netflix website and sign in to your account.
  2. Select your current profile from the list on the screen.

  1. Select the Add Profile option on the next screen.

Netflix“/>

  1. Netflix will ask you to enter a name for your new profile. Enter a name, check the Child field if this is a child profile (if you only want content for children), and click Continue.
