How to Record Apple TV Output Screen Without Any Cables.

But you know what, you can also record your Apple TV out without using a cable. So let’s see. Shall we?
But before we start
1. While on the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV, go to Applications and open QuickTime.
2. Now that the application is running, click the FILE tab in the taskbar and select New Movie Recording. You will immediately see how QuickTime uses the Facetime camera on Mac to record a new movie.
3. Now click the small down arrow next to the red record button. You will see a dropdown menu. Select Apple TV under the Camera heading.
4. The 4-digit passcode will now appear on the AppleTV screen. Use the code on your Macbook to wirelessly connect to your Apple TV.

We tested wireless recording several times and it works fine. But if you want to avoid the minimal latency it has, you can just use a USB-C to USB cable (or just USB C to USB C if you have newer MacBooks) to connect both devices and follow the same steps to record Apple TV screen. Although this option has been removed in the new AppleTV 4K, which lacks a Type-C slot.
We haven’t tried the wired USB method on Windows yet, but we’re pretty sure it won’t work. However, you can still record your Apple TV to your Windows PC by connecting both of them via an HDMI cable and using an HDMI capture card to cast your Apple TV screen to Windows.
