How to Predict Traffic on Google Maps for Android.
Google Maps has many features to make your driving experience even more enjoyable. I keep discovering new features like built-in fare prediction, crash and speed trap reporting, and traffic prediction. My favorite is real-time traffic prediction, but there is a hidden feature that allows you to predict traffic at a specific time. In this guide, I will show you how to predict traffic congestion on Google Maps for Android. Let’s start.
Google traffic prediction is based on several factors, including publicly available sensors, GPS data, and analysis of past traffic records in the area. All of these parameters will help you accurately update your traffic in real time. This data can also be used to predict future traffic. For the most part, this data is usually accurate, unless there has been a recent pattern change, such as a construction or a site accident.

How to predict traffic on Google Maps
To see the traffic forecast, first open the Google Maps app on your Android smartphone. Click the “Directions” button in the lower right corner.
Now enter the start and end point details in the input fields to create a route for your commutation transport.
On the blue route, you will see red traffic jams in real time. Click on the options button (three vertical dots) in the upper right corner.
Select Set Departure and Arrival Times to open a new pop-up window. Here you can select the time and date of your departure or arrival and click “Set”.
Google Maps will automatically generate a route at that time with traffic forecasts for that hour.
This is how you predict traffic congestion during off hours on Google Maps. Unfortunately, you can only use this feature on Android. Even though the Google Maps iOS app is similar to Android, you are not getting traffic preview at this time. Here’s how you can set a route reminder on Google Maps for iOS.
Set a reminder on iOS
Open the Google Maps app on your iOS device and create a route by tapping the direction button.
Enter the start and end point. After the route is plotted on the map, press the options button (three horizontal dots) in the upper right corner.
A dialog box with several options will open. Tap “Set reminder to leave” to set the time and date for the notification. After setting the time and date, click “SET REMINDER”. You will receive a notification when it is time to leave for work.
