How to Post on Instagram Using Google Assistant.
You can use Google Assistant to launch any installed app on your Android. For example, if you say “Ok Google, start Instagramâ€, the Instagram app will open on your Android smartphone. But recently Google introduced a new feature – the Google Assistant shortcut, which now allows users to perform certain tasks in an installed app. For “Ok Google, my Instagram profileâ€, your profile page in the Instagram app will open.
Likewise, by saying “Ok Google, create a new post on Instagramâ€, a new post section will be launched in the Instagram app. However, it doesn’t work out of the box. Here’s how to enable Instagram shortcuts.
Enable posting to Instagram with Google Assistant
First open the Google Assistant settings, you can do this by opening the Google app More Settings and then select the option called “Google Assistantâ€.
Now on the services tab, select the “Labels” option.
Here you can see a list of actions inside apps that you can control with Google Assistant. You can scroll down to the Applications section and select the Instagram option. If you don’t see the Instagram option, make sure you have installed Instagram on your phone.
Now click on the plus sign next to the New Post to Instagram option.
Now you can simply say “Hello Google, new Instagram post†to start posting to Instagram. You can click the edit button and edit the dialog if you want. In any case, it is not case sensitive, Google can figure it out with natural language processing.
Likewise, you can add other shortcuts from Instagram and other apps for various other activities like booking an Uber, sending an image to WhatsApp, displaying your downloads on Prime Video, etc.
