The Firestick is a pretty solid streaming device with support for third-party Android apps, screen mirroring, 4K streaming, and of course Bluetooth headphones like these Airpods. But it is not perfect. While you can connect your AirPods or Bluetooth headphones to the Firestick, there is no way to adjust the volume. To make matters worse, the TV remote didn’t work when I plugged in my Airpods, and it plays audio at an annoyingly high volume. We will try to fix this problem in this article. Let’s start.

How to pair Airpods with Amazon Fire Stick
Unlike other Bluetooth headphones on the market, AirPods do not have a built-in volume rocker. So if you want to listen to your favorite shows on the Firestick, AirPods will play sound in your ear canals at maximum volume. We can fix this problem by routing audio through an app that lets you adjust the volume.
Step 1. Connect AirPods to Firestick
First of all, we will connect the AirPods to the Firestick. To do this, take the Firestick remote, scroll to the “Settings” item on the top panel and open the settings page.
Here you can configure all the features like enabling preferences, disabling ADB and connecting to Bluetooth devices. Scroll to the right and click OK under Bluetooth Controllers and Devices.
On this page, you can link new remotes, remove old ones, and add game controllers. Scroll down and select Other Bluetooth Devices to pair your Bluetooth peripherals such as keyboard, mouse, and headphones.
Now press the pairing button on your AirPods. You can do this by pressing and holding the button on the back of the AirPods case until the light blinks white and it appears in the Firestick Bluetooth menu. Click OK to select and the device should automatically connect.
Once connected, you will receive a sound confirmation in AirPods and a notification in the lower right corner of the Firestick screen.

Step 2: Set Precise Volume
Now that the Airpods are connected. We need to download the Airpods sound control app on Firestick
Of the dozens of apps I’ve tested, Precise Volume is one of the few that actually works with the FireStick. The reason other apps didn’t work was because Firestick was constantly overriding the volume and setting it to maximum. Accurate volume redirects sound and you can adjust the volume from within the app.
Just install the Precise volume app by downloading the apk using Easy Fire Tools or uploading the file using Google Drive. Once you’ve done that, simply adjust the volume slider to your liking and the volume in your AirPods will change. Carefully.
But there is a problem. The volume control app we will be using is not optimized for Firestick, making it difficult to move the slider. You can of course do this with the Firestick remote and it works, but it’s not entirely intuitive. Another option is to connect the mouse to the firestick using a 2-in-1OTG Micro USB cable from Amazon and it works, but using the mouse every time you want to adjust the volume is impractical.
So, to fix this, I am using another application called Mouse Toggle.
Step 3.Set the mouse switch for the TV
Set the Mouse Toggle app to Firestick. If you don’t know how to do it, here is a detailed guide on how to download apps to Firestick.
Once you have installed the app on Firestick, just enable two options; “Enable Mouse Service” and “Autostart on Startup” as shown in the picture below. It may ask you to enable ADB debugging, enable it, and your application will be configured. Now you can navigate any application using the remote control.
To activate the mouse switch on any screen, simply double-click the play button on your remote and the mouse pointer will appear on the screen. You can now use this pointer to adjust the volume.
Final Words
This was a quick guide to connecting AirPods to Firestick and controlling volume. Since Firestick is primarily intended for use with TVs, and most Bluetooth speakers and headphones come with their own set of volume controls, this feature has likely been overlooked or deliberately removed. Thanks to the Android architecture that Firestick is based on, we can easily work around the issue. If you have a better way to adjust the volume on the Firestick, let me know in the comments below.
