How to Optimize and Spring Clean Your iPhone Storage With AnyTrans.
Even though iTunes is the official way to access your iPhone data from a computer, it is in no way effective. First, you need to sync your iPhone first before you can see any files stored on the device. I wanted to backup and organize iPhone data on my computer, but with something more powerful than iTunes. In this article, I will show you how to optimize and organize iPhone storage with AnyTrans, let’s get started.

Back up iPhone data to your computer or Mac
The biggest advantage of using AnyTrans over iTunes is granular control over the data you get with this tool. You can back up your photos, videos, music and even messages with just one click. Just install the AnyTrans software on your computer from the website. Yes, works for both Windows and Mac.
After the software download is complete, launch the software and connect your iPhone using the Lightning cable. Unfortunately, AnyTrans does not yet support Wi-Fi backups. You may need to enter your iPhone passcode the first time you use this software. AnyTrans will then recognize the device and show you the data it can get. Click the Content on Mac button to start the backup process.
You can choose what data and where to copy. I wanted to back up everything, so I selected “All” and moved on to the next step.
AnyTrans will immediately start backing up your files, and depending on the size of the data, this may take a while.
Once this is done, you will find the data in the location you selected earlier. That’s all you need to do to back up your data to your computer. You can back up not only photos and videos, but also music, ringtones, podcasts and even books.
Although AnyTrans backs up most of your data with one click, if you want to back up your iMessages, you will have to do it manually. It’s still effortless and only takes a few seconds. Click on Messages wait for AnyTrans to receive the information select all threads Click on the Download button. You can download it as plain text, PDF, or as HTML document.
If you are using WhatsApp instead of iMessage, you can also back up those chats. Just click on Social Messaging Manager select WhatsApp Backup Wait for it to receive the information Download to your computer.
Delete iPhone data
Now that you’ve backed up your iPhone, you can shed the load from your iPhone and free up space. In my case, most of the data is occupied by applications and photos. Click the Photos icon.
You will see all the photos taking up space on your iPhone, select all photos by checking the box next to each image, or save time by selecting all.
Click the Delete button on the top bar to permanently delete photos from iPhone.
You can repeat the process for music, videos, messages, and even apps. Using AnyTrans to organize and clean your iPhone is very simple, almost like the spring cleaning we do in our homes.
