How to Mirror iPhone or Mac to Amazon Fire Stick.
Although Fire TV Sticks have built-in screen mirroring, they do not work with Apple devices because the streaming device does not currently support Apple AirPlay technology. However, you can mirror your iPhone on the big screen with a Fire TV Stick.
We’ll show you how to use third-party apps to mirror content from your iPhone or Mac to your Fire TV Stick.
Note. The instructions in this guide will work on all Fire TV Stick models, from Fire TV Stick Lite to Fire TV Stick 4K Max. If any steps differ from those described in this post, update your Fire Stick operating system and check again.
Mirror iPhone & Mac to Amazon Fire TV Stick Using AirScreen
AirScreen is one of the best tools to mirror Apple devices to Fire TV Stick. It supports Apple AirPlay technology and other wireless display standards such as Miracast, DLNA and Google Cast. You can also use the app to mirror Android devices to your Fire TV Stick.
Set up AirScreen for screen mirroring
Follow these steps to install and set up the AirScreen app on your Fire TV Stick.
Click the Find tab and select Search.
Type airscreen in the search bar and select Airscreen or the Airscreen app from the search suggestions.
Select AirScreen – Airplay, Cast, Miracast, and DLNA from the Apps & Games section of the Amazon App Store.
Select “Download” or “Get” to install the app on your Fire TV Stick.
Mirroring iOS Devices to Fire Stick with AirScreen
You don’t need to install any app on your iPhone or iPad to mirror its screen to Fire Stick via AirScreen. Connect your iPhone to the same Wi-Fi network as the Fire TV Stick and follow these steps:
Open the iPhone Control Center and tap the Screen Mirroring icon. Select AS-AFTT[AirPlay] from the Screen Mirroring menu.
Wait a few seconds until your phone’s screen appears on your TV screen. Please note that mirroring performance will depend on the quality of your Wi-Fi network. Scrolling may lag if you have a slow internet connection.
Mirror Mac to Fire Stick with AirScreen
Here’s how to use the AirScreen app installed on your Fire TV device to mirror your Mac’s screen.
Open the Control Center icon in the menu bar and select Screen Mirroring.
Select AS-AFTT[AirPlay] from the Screen Mirroring menu.
If you don’t see the AirScreen app name in the Screen Mirroring menu, turn off Wi-Fi on your Mac and turn it back on. After that, connect to the same Wi-Fi network as the Fire TV Stick and check again.
Your Mac’s display should appear on your TV screen in a few seconds. If there is a lag in mirroring or sync speed, it is most likely due to a poor internet connection. For best screen mirroring, make sure both devices are connected to high-speed Wi-Fi.
You can also make your TV an additional display or extended monitor. Select the Screen Mirroring icon in the menu bar and select Use as separate display.
To distribute an app to your TV, drag the app window to the left corner of your Mac screen until it appears on your TV screen.
Although AirScreen is a free app, it occasionally displays ads during screen mirroring sessions. Upgrade to Pro version to use ad-free mirroring.
Mirror iPhone & Mac to Amazon Fire Stick Using AirBeamTV
AirBeamTV is another mirroring app worth mentioning. We mirrored our iPhone and Mac to a Fire TV Stick using AirBeamTV and it worked great. However, unlike AirScreen, setting up AirBeam TV on our devices took a little more time and effort.
Another downside is that AirBeamTV must be installed on the Fire Stick and the devices you want to mirror. AirBeamTV is free, but the trial version is limited. Purchase a subscription (starting at $4.99/month) for continuous ad-free mirroring, HD mirroring, and screen mirroring with audio.
Set up AirBeamTV for screen mirroring
Go to the Find tab on the Fire TV Stick home screen and select Search.
Type airbeamtv in the search bar and select Airbeamtv or Airbeamtv Mirroring Receiver in the search suggestions.
Select AirBeamTV Screen Mirroring Receiver from the Apps & Games section of the Fire TV App Store.
Select “Get” to install the app on your Fire Stick.
Then download the AirBeamTV Mac client from the developer’s website and install it on your Mac. If you are going to use the app to mirror your iPhone, please install the AirBeamTV mobile client from the App Store.
If AirBeamTV is installed on your devices, everything is set to mirror content to your TV.
Mirror iOS devices to Fire TV Stick with AirBeam TV
AirBeamTV should automatically detect your Fire TV Stick if it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your device.
1 – Open the AirBeamTV app and give it the necessary permissions – “Notifications” and “LAN” – to work effectively on your device.
2- Open AirBeamTV on Fire TV Stick and do the following:
3- Open AirBeamTV on your iPhone/iPad, tap Screen Mirror on the main page and select Fire TV. Tap Screen Mirror again when the app connects to your Fire Stick.
Select “Try Now” to enter the free trial mode. Turn on “Sound” if you want the app to record the sound of your iPhone/iPad when you mirror the screen. Please note that “Screen Mirroring with Sound” is a paid feature.Click “Start Mirroring” and then click “Start Broadcasting” in the pop-up window. Your iPhone’s screen will appear on your TV when you start streaming.
Mirroring Mac Screen to Fire TV Stick with AirBeam TV
Follow the instructions to use the app to mirror or extend your Mac’s screen on your TV screen.
Tap the AirBeamTV icon in the menu bar and select Start Mirroring. Make sure your Fire TV is the “target device” and check “Unmute TV” and “Scale image to fit TV screen”.
Give AirBeamTV access to your Mac’s microphone when prompted. After that, move on to the next step to grant the Screen Recorder permission to the app.
Select “Open System Preferences” from any of the prompts.
Click the padlock icon in the lower left corner and check the “Mirror for Fire TV” box.
Select Quit and reopen.
Open the AirBeamTV app menu in the menu bar and select Start Mirroring. The app should project your entire Mac screen onto your TV screen within seconds.
You can mirror one app instead of the whole screen. Open the AirBeamTV menu, expand the Source drop-down list, and select an application.
Select Stop Mirroring to end the mirroring session.
Note. The free/trial version of the AirBeamTV app only allows you to display your iPhone or Mac for approximately five minutes per session. You will need to purchase the app to display the screen for more than five minutes.
Enjoy a Bigger View
When dubbing videos, presentations, or Netflix movies with these apps, put your iPhone in landscape mode for a better viewing experience.
We’ve been using AirScreen for a long period with no significant hiccups other than the occasional ad. AirBeamTV, on the other hand, was stopping our mirroring session about every five minutes. AirScreen also provided better picture quality, and we were also able to mirror content with sound using the trial version.
