How to Listen to Spotify at the Same Time With Someone Else.
While there is no shortage of music syncing apps like AmpMe, jqbx and Rave, if you want to sync music online, the options are limited. Luckily, Spotify recently launched a new group streaming feature that lets you listen to the same song together.
Since you don’t need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi, I think this is a really great feature to take advantage of in this pandemic. Here’s how you can link songs and manage them together.

Listen to Spotify In Sync
Open Spotify, play the song and click the Connect to Device button. You can see the Spotify code that allows you to start a group session.
If your friend is nearby, ask him to open the Spotify app on his smartphone, press the same Connect to Device button and press SCAN TO JOIN. Or, if your friend is far away, you can send him a screenshot via WhatsApp or email and ask him to use the SELECT FROM PHOTOS option.
You can add as many people to your group as you like, and everyone can manage songs together.

It’s still in beta, and you also don’t have all the rumored social listening feature set at this point. Either way, this is one of the most useful features a 2020 music streaming service should have as a standard. While I’m very impressed with the service, it could be even better if we could just share a link with friends to join. Since this feature is only in beta and not yet available to everyone, we can expect Spotify to add such small features to make it smoother.
