How to Launch Apps on Startup in Chromebook.
As you know, Chromebooks are Google’s bet on a laptop operating system. Since it is mainly focused on web applications and cloud services, it misses out on small operating system features. For example, you can’t install launchable apps on a Chromebook. But with the advent of many Android apps, things are pretty straightforward. So, here’s how to install launchable apps on your Chromebook.
How to launch apps at startup on a Chromebook
Chromebooks natively allow you to customize boot web pages. You can configure the launch of web applications at startup. However, you cannot run local applications using this method.
To do this, we will need to install an Android app called AutoStart. The app is quite old and has an unintuitive interface. Once you open the app, you get a button to enable the autoplay option, click to enable the service.
Once you have done this, the second button will allow you to select the applications you want to launch at startup. Once selected, the application name will appear on the main application screen.
You also have several options, such as Delay Start and Delay Next Application. As the name suggests, these parameters determine the interval at which the application starts after system startup. I left these options as default. I noticed that even though the app start delay is set to 0, the app still starts 2-3 minutes after logging in.
Besides the Auto Start app, you also have a Task Manager, Android Assistant, and more, which allows you to customize your startup apps.
