Did you know that the last internet meme was Haduken and Weidering? Yes, me too. Hadoken is a place where people take pictures of themselves fighting in the air, and Weidering is a place where people pretend to use “force” and strangle people in the Darth Vader style. I admit, it’s pretty damn funny.
Apparently, the Hadoken meme was started by Japanese girls. It seems like a new topic appears on the Internet every day or week. The only problem is that I usually don’t know about it. Maybe it’s because I work from home, which means I’m less in touch with people and therefore don’t hear “Hey, have you seen this Harlem Shake video?”
If you’re like me and don’t tackle your Internet memes as you seem to be, then here are some ways you can stay on top of your madness, so the next time you are asked if you’ve seen or heard of XYZ, you may feel good that you are in the know too. It is also a lot of fun browsing all the internet memes if you are bored and want to be entertained. There are so many of them that it is impossible to hear about each.
Qnuermm.com
This site is similar to Encyclopedia Britannica of Internet Memes. I mean, it’s really funny how detailed and informative it is. Many sites will simply tell you what a meme is, with a link to videos or images, etc., but this site is replete with detailed articles on each meme: summary, origins of the meme, how it spreads, examples, links to interviews of people involved in meme, derived from meme and more. What’s great about it is that it links to all external links, so you know they aren’t just making this up.
For example, just visit the Funny Photogenic Guy meme page:
http: //knovourmeme.com/memes/ridikulosly-photogenic-goy-zeddilittle
After reading this entire page, you will learn almost everything there is to know about this meme. You can also view image-only memes or video-only memes, and if you really want to dig into this, you can go to the forum and talk about the meme with hundreds of other people.
Wikipedia
Wikipedia is also a great way to learn about internet memes. When I’m really bored, I go to the Internet meme category page on Wikipedia and go through the hundreds of Internet memes listed there. Of course, this list is always updated by someone, so it never gets old.
http: //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category: Internet_memes
Another good page is Internet Phenomena, which lists the most popular viral videos, images, jokes, catchphrases, and more.

Google News
Another place I read about the newest internet memes is Google News. Just search for “recent internet memes” and then click the “Add” section on my Google News home page.
This is how I found out about Weidering and Haduken! If you want to know what your kids are laughing hysterically at on the phone, you might look a little cooler by having an idea of ??what’s going on. Enjoy!
