When trying to decrypt a foreign language, it can often seem like you are trying to hack into an AES encrypted server. You do what you can, but in the end there was no hope. The same thing happens when you come across a website with a country domain value in an unfamiliar language.
This is one of those things that keeps gamers awake at night when they want to play a region-specific game from South Korea, or when a couch potato tries to shop at local online stores abroad. How the hell are you supposed to retrieve information if you can’t even read it?
Fear not, as Google has provided users with its own translation options. Any of these should be enough to help you combat the confusion written on your face as well as on your computer screen.

Google Input Tools for writing in any language
Google entry Tools for writing in any language
This Google feature is designed to help anyone trying to type something in another language. That is, a language that contains special characters. It offers the ability to choose the language you want to write in, as well as the input tools to use at work.
For those unfamiliar with special characters and keyboard codes with the ALT sequence, this can be a godsend. They even offer you the option to try it out before downloading the plugin. If you’re happy with a little copy and paste, you don’t even need a plugin.
- Go to the Try it out tab.
- Select your language and tool (usually your keyboard) and start typing in the field.
- You will notice your input tool in the lower right corner of the screen.
- If you have selected a keyboard and your language requires it, the keys shown will look slightly different from the ones you are using. This is quick access to any special characters that you might need when writing in your chosen language.
- There is also a special characters button that you can click, it is not in the input tool.
- Another cool thing about the menu is the ability to draw your own symbol.
Once you’ve written what needs to be written, you can copy and paste wherever needed. However, if you plan on using it frequently, the Chrome extension will be of great benefit. Go to the In Chrome tab and follow the instructions to download and install the extension.
You can also opt out of using it in your browser and instead only use it on certain Google services. Click the In Google Services tab and select one or more of the available services to make Google Input Tools work for you.
