How to Fix Your Disabled Account in the App Store and iTunes

How to Fix Your Disabled Account in the App Store and iTunes.

Do you keep seeing the “Your account has been disabled in the App Store and iTunes” error on your iPhone, iPad, iPod, or Mac? This happens when you have a serious problem with your Apple ID. For example, your account may have been the subject of a security breach. Or it could be due to unresolved payment issues or disputed payments for past purchases.

You won’t be able to make new purchases from the App Store or iTunes Store until you fix the issue. You may also be unable to use Apple services such as FaceTime and iMessage during this time.

But while Apple recommends contacting Apple Support to fix a disabled Apple ID, you might have a chance to figure it out on your own by following the tips below.

Security considerations such as repeated sign-in attempts with an incorrect password can result in the “iTunes/App Store account has been disabled” error. So try changing your Apple ID account password immediately.

Change your Apple ID password on iPhone and iPad

1. Open the Settings app and tap your Apple ID.

2. Click Password & Security.

3. Click Change Password.

4. Enter your iPhone passcode.

Reset Apple ID Password Online

If you’re having trouble changing your Apple ID password through Settings or System Preferences, try using Apple’s online password reset portal instead.

1. Visit https://iforgot.apple.com using Safari or Chrome on any of your Apple devices.

2. Enter the email address associated with your Apple ID and click Continue.

3. Enter your Apple ID phone number and click Continue.

4. You will receive a notification on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. When it does, select “Show” or “Allow”.

6. You may need to verify your actions by entering a two-factor authentication code you received on another trusted device or by using your Apple ID recovery key. After that, remember to sign in to all your Apple devices with the correct password.

Update or Add Payment Method

Billing issues or disputed app purchases can also lead to “iTunes/App Store account disabled” errors. Try changing your current payment method (such as a credit card) or adding a new payment method and see if that helps.
