How to Fix Grub Rescue Error With Fixmbr Command.

Wondering how to fix grub rescue error with one command? All you need is a Windows installation disc or a recovery disc. If you haven’t, you can use the Hiren bootable CD. (Download link)

How could that happen

There are many reasons, but most of them are if you installed Ubuntu along with windows and you messed up the partition or uninstalled Ubuntu. In this case, Grub is also removed, and since Windows cannot find it, we cannot log in.

Any system loaded into main memory requires an MBR (Master Boot Record). When the MBR is corrupted, the system can no longer boot into the operating system. And the grub rescue error is displayed

Follow the steps

1. Insert your Windows 7 installation disc or recovery DVD, if you don’t have one, you can use the Hiren bootable CD.

2. Boot into your cd / DVD drive. This is usually done with the F8 or F12 key combination. But since this varies from system to system, I suggest you Google “How to boot from CD to ___” followed by your laptop model number.

3. From the Hiren boot menu, choose to boot from hard drive. Windows 7 Hiren boot menu.

4. Immediately press F8, then select and click “Repair your computer”.

5. Select the language you want to click Next, click Command Prompt and enter the bootrec / fixmbr command.

6. Restart your computer and you’re done.
