How to Fix ‘Can’t Upload Photos in Apps on iOS 14’.
A lot of people started to complain that their photos are not showing in apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, Drive, etc. Conveniently, all of these users have iPhones and have recently updated to iOS 14. If you are in the same boat If you are trying to find a way to get all the photos displayed in any application, then you are in the right place. Let’s fix it.
Fix: Photos not showing up in apps on iOS 14
Apple has made a significant number of changes to its latest version of iOS, which includes stricter permissions for third-party apps. Now, every app must explicitly ask for permission to access the photos stored on your iPhone, and you can limit the number of photos you share with the app. This is a great privacy feature, but if you are not aware of this feature it might seem like a problem.
However, to give an app like Instagram access to more of your photos, just open the Settings app, scroll down and open Instagram settings (if you have problems with other apps like WhatsApp, open WhatsApp instead ).
Once on the Instagram settings page, tap the photos section to open the settings. On this page, you can grant access in three different ways; All photos, Selected photos and Nothing. To allow access to multiple selected photos, click Edit Selected Photos.
Here you can select and deselect the photos that will appear on the Instagram app. With all the photos selected, click Done.
Grant access to images to multiple applications simultaneously
If you have multiple apps that don’t have access to the photos you want, you can also share from one location. Open the Settings app and go to your privacy settings.
In your privacy settings, find and tap Photos. Here you will find all the applications that have access to your iPhone photos. To change the resolution for any application, tap the desired application and change its permissions as we did above. In this case, I wanted to change the permissions of the Gmail app.
Clicking on Gmail opens up the same three options; No, All and Selected. Choose the one that suits you and you’re done.
