How to Fix Android TV stuck on Boot.
We received a recently released Nokia TV running Android TV 9.0 this week, and after the first OTA update, it stuck on the launch screen for a few hours. We did a forced restart a few times, but eventually agreed to a hard reset that resolved the issue. So here’s how to fix Android TV stuck on boot.
Before looking for a solution, it is important to first understand the problem. So, unlike Android OS installed on smartphones, AndroidTV OS does not have seamless A / B updates. This causes the classic problem of device unusability after OTA update.

How to fix Android TV stuck on booting
The simplest solution is to reset Android TV settings. This will take you back to the stable version of Android OS. Resetting Android TV, however, will erase all of your local data, installed apps, channels and wireless settings.
You can now soft reset or hard reset Android TV. But since the Android OS is still not loaded, you will not be able to get to the settings menu in the usual way. However, Android TV manufacturers basically create their own settings menu on top of Android TV. The only caveat is that this method is variable and depends entirely on the TV manufacturer.
For example, we have a Nokia Android TV. On the home screen, you have a custom Nokia TV menu that you can access by pressing the Home button on your Nokia TV remote control. Select the More option from the menu.
You will now be redirected to the Android TV settings menu. Scroll down and click on Device Settings.
In the Device Settings menu, scroll down and click the Reset button.
On the confirmation page, select Erase everything.
After that, the TV will need a minute or two to reset everything. On next launch, log in to your google account and set up other configurations.

Some Android TVs provide hard reset using hardware keys. For example, Sony Bravia TVs running Android have 3-4 button panels on the back. To perform a forced reset, you must first unplug the power cord. Then press the power and volume down buttons at the same time while you reconnect the power cord. Hold the keys until the white LED turns green. Post this, the Sony Bravia screen will appear. From here, you have to skip google login, network and channel settings. Now reset your device to factory settings via Android settings.
If you have a Mi TV running Android TV, chances are you won’t be able to find the reset button. In order to perform a hard reboot of Mi TV, we need to go to recovery mode. To do this, you need a paired Mi Remote.
Unplug the power supply to forcibly turn off the TV. After that, press the Power button and the Back button at the same time while turning on the TV. Make sure you are turning on your TV from a power source and not using the power button on your TV.
Then you will get the Mi screensaver followed by the recovery mode. Release the buttons on the remote control as soon as you enter recovery mode. In recovery mode, you can restart your device and see if the problem is fixed. If restarting does not solve the problem, please select “Wipe data / Factory reset†(see screenshot). Next, select Yes on the confirmation page.
After the reset, log in to your Google account and proceed with further settings. Moreover, if you have a rooted Android TV, it is not advisable to select Wipe All, as it may delete the root files.
