How to Enable Dark Mode in Android 10.

On March 13, 2019, Google launched the beta version of Android Q. Today we are releasing the third beta version. Previous versions of the Android Beta program were now only available for Pixel Devices. But starting with Beta 3, Google has extended support for the Android Q Beta program to 21 more devices.

If your phone is listed on the device preview list, you can get the beta via OTA update, or even flash them. If you have a registered device, visit the Android Developers website and go to your phone. Click the Get Beta button below your phone. Now, depending on the devices, you will get either Android Q via OTA update or a flashable zip file. If you are like me and prefer the blinking path, below is the link to Android Q build for Pixel devices for developers.

1. There is a quick way to do this. You can pull down the notification bar and you won’t find a dark mode button. To get this, click on the edit icon in the lower left corner of the drawer.

This is different from the Invert Color option and does not make the UI look terrifying. The notification bar, app bar and Google Apps are hidden in the dark. As of now, Google Photos, Dialer supports dark theme. Messages, YouTube and Maps must be manually set to dark mode.

Note. This does not affect third party apps, and they will still have their own theme.
