How to Download Instagram Reels on all Platforms.
Instagram Reels is Facebook’s version of TikTok. It has a similar swipe gesture for navigation, and also shows random 15 second video content you might like, similar to TikTok. But unlike TikTok, there is no upload option on Instagram Reels. In any case, regardless of platform, you have many third-party alternatives to download the reels. Here’s how to do it.
Option 1: Built-in save option
Before looking at third-party apps, take a look at the built-in feature in Instagram.
The easiest way to save drums is to use the built-in save option. Contrary to its name, it doesn’t upload the video to your local storage, but rather works more as a bookmark option for when you want to revisit that video later. Along with that, you have other benefits too, for example you can access these saved drums on any device by simply logging into your Instagram account.
To save the drums, open the Instagram app and navigate to the drum you want to save. Now click on the three-dot menu at the bottom. Now click on the “Save” option in the pop-up menu. That’s it, you have saved the reel in your collection.
You can access your saved reels by clicking on the profile icon in the lower right corner and opening the hamburger menu in the upper right corner. Now select the “Saved” option in the sidebar.
Here you can find all your saved videos in a folder called All Messages. Alternatively, you can select multiple posts and create a collection if you like. You can also access this saved list from the web version.
In any case, if the bootloader decides to delete the drums, you will also lose them from the saved list.
Option 2: Download on Android
To get started, download the Photo and Video Downloader app for Instagram (also known as InsTake Downloader). Now open the Instagram app and navigate to the reel you want to download. Click on the three-dot menu at the bottom and select the “Copy Link” option. Then open InsTake Downloader and the app will automatically post the link you copied. Click on the Download option below and the download will start instantly.
You can find the downloaded video in the InsTake Downloader folder in your gallery.
Option 3: Download to iPhone
You can download drums to your iPhone using the InSaver app. Once downloaded, open the Instagram app and navigate to the reel you want to download. Now click on the three-dot menu at the bottom and select the “Copy Link” option.
Go to the InSaver app, paste the link in the text box at the top and click the blue “watch” button below. On the Watch screen, the video may take a while to load, but you can continue by clicking Options at the bottom.
Now select the Share option in the pop-up window. In the Share menu, click Save Video to save the video.
You can find the downloaded video in the Photos app.
Option 4: Download using the website
Whether you are on a desktop computer or just want to save one video using a website, your work will be easier and faster. To save just copy the link to the drums. If you are on the desktop Instagram website, you can find a three-dot menu next to the post in the Instagram feed. Just click on it and select the “Copy Link” option.
Now open the Instagram video download site and paste the link into the Instagram video url. After pasting, click on the Download Instagram Video button.
Your video will now be uploaded. When it becomes available, click on “Download Video to Mp4” to save the video to local storage.
Option 5: Download with the Chrome Extension
Downloading from the website works, but if you like using Instagram more on your desktop and want to download more often, having the extension makes the process easier. To get started, add the Instagram Extension Downloader to your Chrome browser.
Now open Instagram and navigate to the reel you want to download. You can just hover your cursor over the video and find the download button in the upper left corner. Just click on it to load the coil.

With these apps, websites and extensions, you can now upload videos on whatever platform you work on. There are many other alternatives such as the InGramer website, but the download process takes a little time. Lots of Android apps that do the same thing, but most of them have a lot of ads and even pop-ups making them difficult to navigate. So how do they work for you? Let me know in the comment section.
