How to Disable annoying “headphone Jack Plugged In” Popup on any ASUS Laptop.

I recently started using a budget gaming laptop from Asus, the TUF Gaming FX505DY. While it has its pros and cons, there is one thing that is common to many Windows computers. It’s an annoying pop-up that appears every time you plug in your headphones to the 3.5mm jack. Asus is no exception, and in this article, we will disable the “Headphone Jack Connected” pop-up window. Let’s start.

Most Windows computers have an audio application that controls sound, devices, and playback. While Windows may initially do this, original equipment manufacturers add this bloat as a personal touch in the name of quality. Asus has a Realtek audio console that does this by routing sound to the headphones when you plug them in.

Disable the “Headphone jack inserted” pop-up window

Click the Start button, locate Realtek Audio Console in the Start menu and select Advanced Device Settings in the lower left corner of the window that opens.

This will ensure that the console does not appear automatically, but the sound will still be transmitted to the headphones. However, you will still receive regular notifications that you have plugged in your headphones. If you want to avoid distractions and no notifications, just turn off the notification permission for the Realtek console.

To turn off notifications, go to the start menu and click on Settings to open the settings page. Click System.

In the “System Settings” section, find “Notifications and actions”, click to open their options. Scroll down the list of apps in the right pane and turn off the toggle switch next to Realtek Audio Console.

Now, the next time you plug in your headphones, you will no longer receive notifications or pop-ups.

It was a quick way to turn off annoying pop-ups and notifications that appear every time you plug in a pair of headphones. I don’t mind getting a notification, but these OEMs have to find a way to detect if I plug in a new pair of headphones every time or not, and only show a notification when the computer doesn’t recognize the headphones. Some Dell laptops can already do this, so I know it’s possible. What annoying pop-ups appear on Windows, let me know in the comments below?
