How to Connect YouTube Music to Google Maps in Android and iOS.
Google is frequently adding new features to music from Google Play, such as live lyrics, standalone mixtapes, an all-new “now playing” interface, and recently integration with Google Maps. So now that you can listen to YouTube Music without leaving the Google Maps app while navigating, let’s see how to set it up for the first time.
Connect YouTube Music to Google Maps
You must have a YouTube Music Premium or YouTube Premium subscription to access this feature. Also, make sure your Google Maps app is version 10.43. 2 or higher. And it works on both Android and iOS. To configure, open Google Maps Settings Navigation Settings and enable “Show media playback controls”. Now open your default media app and select YouTube Music. Click NEXT and click OK.
Now that you are in navigation, you can simply click on the YouTube Music icon below the report button and access YouTube Music right in the app. You can check the song title, album art with several additional controls like play / pause, next track and previous track without leaving the app.
Click on the browse option to access your playlists and songs that you might want to listen to, so you can even change tracks or playlists right here.
To access the same streaming service even with Google Assistant, go to Google Maps Settings Navigation Settings click on the “Assistant default media Provider†option and select YouTube Music.
You can now control your music with your voice using Google Assistant.
Finally, the road to Google Play Music has come to an end, and YouTube Music is getting new features every week or two. However, YouTube Music has a much better interface and music library. With these new features like lyrics and Google Maps integration, YouTube Music is one of the best music streaming services anyone can choose right now.
