How To Check Your Apple Pencil Battery.
If you’ve just bought or gifted an Apple Pencil, congratulations. Now you are the proud owner of an Apple accessory that is literally a game changer on your iPad. But one of the things you’ll quickly notice is that it’s impossible to tell how high or low your Apple Pencil battery is.
Typically, tech devices and accessories have a battery indicator or small light to let you know when the battery level is low. But the Apple Pencil has nothing. So how do you know when to get a charger to charge your baby with a battery?
Introducing the iPad Battery Tool
Recently, a new widget was introduced on iPad that shows the battery level of the iPad and everything connected to the iPad (for example, the Apple Pencil battery). This is what you need to use to see at a glance how much battery power your Apple Pencil has left.
On the iPad home screen, swipe right until you see a list of widgets available to use.
One of them will be called “Batteries”. Move it up to the Pinned Favorites and I would also recommend enabling the “Save to Home Screen” option.
If you go back to the home screen now, you will see the Batteries widget appear on your screen along with your iPad’s battery level.

To see the battery level of your Apple Pencil, just hold it near your iPad. If this is your first time using it with iPad, you will need to turn on Bluetooth on iPad and pair iPad and Apple Pencil together before it appears on the widget.
When paired and in close proximity to each other, you’ll see the Apple Pencil appear in the widget along with the battery level.
If Apple Pencil disappears from the widget at any time, just bring it closer to iPad or reconnect it to Bluetooth.
Apple claims the Apple Pencil has a battery life of 12 hours of continuous use, so depending on how often you use it, it’s important to keep track of that battery level if you don’t want the battery to drain at a critical moment. moment.
