When you first log into any website, Chrome asks if you want to save this password for future use. In addition to the password manager, you also get other features such as – manage passwords from the Internet and auto login for supported Android apps.
That being said, Chrome’s password manager is not the safest way to store passwords. Anyone with access to your unlocked device can view all passwords. Luckily, Chrome offers some level of security by prompting you to enter your Android lock screen PIN / pattern before showing saved passwords. Although accessing saved passwords on a computer is easy, how to check a saved password in Chrome Mobile. Let’s check.

How to check saved password in Chrome Mobile app
The Chrome app on Android stores passwords locally and in your Google account. First, we’ll follow these steps to view passwords in the Chrome app.
First, open the Chrome browser on your phone and click on the hamburger icon (three vertical dots). Go to settings and click passwords.
You will see all your saved passwords in a scrolling list.
To access any saved password, use the search bar at the top and enter a website name or scroll through the list of domains. Click on the username and black dots will appear instead of the password. If you click on the eye, it will ask you to enter the phone password (if you have set one) before revealing the password. This is a security feature to prevent anyone from intercepting your passwords if you accidentally leave your phone unlocked.
If you switch browser and want to export your passwords, you can do so by clicking on the hamburger icon and choosing Export Passwords. You will still need to enter your phone password in advance.
You can now browse the list of settings to go to the saved passwords tab, but there is a shortcut. You can click on the username field and this will give you the “Manage Passwords” option which will take you directly to the passwords tab and you can click on the eye to view the password for that particular website and user.
View saved passwords from other browsers
Every time you install Chrome on a new device and sign in with your Google account, it syncs your history, bookmarks, and even credentials. This is because Google stores your passwords in your Google account. If you’ve ever found yourself in a situation where you didn’t have access to your phone or mobile Chrome browser, but need your website login credentials, this method will help.
Go to https://passwords.google.com/ in your browser and sign in with your Google ID. It must be the same ID that was registered in your Chrome browser.
Once logged in, you will see all your saved passwords, find the username you are looking for and tap the eye to the right of the entry you want to open the password.
Stop saving passwords on Chrome
Chrome saves your passwords whenever you allow it, and I personally don’t think you should keep your credentials confidential in the browser. You can turn off this feature and stop saving passwords in Chrome.
Go to your browser, tap the hamburger icon and select “Settings” from the list.
Click on Passwords and set the Save passwords option to OFF. Now Google will never save passwords in your phone’s browser.
How to delete passwords saved in Chrome Android
If you use multiple devices with the same Google account, chances are your passwords are syncing across devices. This means your sensitive data is scattered across devices, making them more vulnerable. Deleting data on every device would be tedious, but there is a quick fix. You can erase all saved passwords from your Google account by clearing your browser data.
In Chrome browser go to the hamburger icon and click on history,
Select “Clear Browsing Data”. Go to the Advanced tab and select All the time from the drop-down menu.
Check the box next to Saved Passwords and click Clear Data. Your passwords will disappear from your device and all other synced devices as soon as the account is synced on each device. Make sure you browse safely from now on.
How to check saved passwords in Chrome Mobile?
