Chat with Apple Support via App
If you live in a supported country, you can download the Apple Support app and start an iMessage conversation with a support specialist. This is the easiest and fastest way to get support as the app will automatically list all your Apple devices.
- Open Apple Support and sign in to your iCloud account. You should get a list of all your devices at the top under the “Products” section.
- Click on the product you want support. Below your devices, you will see a list of Apple services, and below you will find other products such as AirTags, Apple ID, Apple Pay, and more. Choosing a device such as iPhone gives you certain support options.
3. Go ahead and click on a category and you will get another list of possible problems from which you can choose.
4. Here you can select one of the preset options or click “Describe your problem”. If you click on options, it will search through the list of possible support options.
5. Depending on your region, you will have different options, such as delivering your device for repair, troubleshooting articles, and more. At the bottom, you will see communication options: iMessage or phone call. Go ahead and click on that to start a live iMessage chat with a support representative.

- On the next page, select the appropriate Apple product or service.
- Choose the topic or category that best describes the problem you need help solving. Apple will then recommend the best support option based on your selection.
- Scroll down the page and select “Topic not listed.”
- Enter a brief description of the problem in the dialog box and select Submit.
-
Select a chat using messages.
- Type or paste your device serial number into the dialog box, wait for Apple to verify the number, and select “Open” to launch the Messages app.

- Enter the details of the problem in the text box and click Submit.
Wait for the bot to connect you with an Apple Support Representative or Consultant. This usually takes about two minutes or less. Subsequent responses to our requests and comments also took about 2-3 minutes. For the best experience, use clear words and sentences in your messages. Also avoid obscure acronyms and slang.
Since this is an iMessage chat, you can send media files (screenshots, audio messages, etc.) to help the representative better understand and resolve the issue you are experiencing. If you do not understand something, be sure to ask the representative with whom you are talking. They are friendly and ready to answer all your questions.
You can always write to Apple Support via iMessage anytime you have a problem with any Apple product or service. Just open an Apple Support conversation in the Messages app and post an old or new issue. An Apple Support representative will respond to your message within minutes.
How to Speak to an Apple Representative
If you’re not getting a response through Messages (which is unlikely), or prefer phone calls over text messages, here’s how to get Apple Support to call you.
- Visit the Apple Support page in your browser and select the product category for which you need help.
- Choose the theme that best describes the problem with your device, app, subscription, etc.
- On the next page, select “Topic not listed.”
-
Enter the details of the problem in the dialog box
and click Submit.
- Select Contact Apple Support Now as your preferred support option.
Note that the Contact Apple Support Now option changes to Schedule a Call when Apple Support is not available. In this case, select Schedule a Call, select the day and time you want Apple Support to call you, and click Select.
- Enter or paste your device serial number to continue. After that, enter your details (name and email address) next to the phone number and click “Continue”.
The next section provides detailed instructions on how to check serial numbers on Apple devices.
The support website will log your report, send a confirmation email, and assign your “Case ID” to an Apple support representative. You will be called in two minutes or less. If you don’t answer the call, Apple will email you a reminder and call you again.
If you still do not answer the call, you will have to start this process from scratch in order to transfer the new call.
By the way, it should be noted that phone support is not available for some products and services. If you receive the error “Sorry, the support option you selected is not available for this product,†contact Apple Support instead.
Check Serial Number for Apple Products
It’s important to have your device serial number handy before contacting Apple Support via iMessage or by phone. You will find your device serial number on the box packaging. But if you can’t find the packaging anymore, we’ll show you how to check the serial numbers on your Apple devices.
For iPhone, go to Settings> General> About and check the Serial Number line. Do you want to copy the serial number? Press and hold the serial number and select Copy.
You can also check the serial number of Apple accessories (AirPods, Apple Watch, etc.) right on your iPhone. For AirPods, go to Settings> Bluetooth, tap the info icon next to AirPods, and check the About section for your serial number.
To find your Apple Watch serial number, launch the Watch app, go to the My Watch tab, go to Settings> General> About, and check the Serial Number line.
Need your Mac’s serial number? Open the Apple menu, choose About This Mac, and check the Serial Number line.
