How to Change the Function of AirPods

How to Change the Function of AirPods.

Bluetooth headphones have been around for years, but Apple has changed the game with the AirPods. AirPods look great and are built to be the most comfortable option for the average person, but their true strength of AirPods is in their functionality and versatility.

AirPods are activated (or deactivated) by double-tapping the device when it is in your ear. It’s perfect for answering a phone call or activating Siri on the go. You get used to the feeling of the device in your ear. The default functionality is already extensive, but you can do even more with a few changes.

How to rename your AirPods

If you want to give your AirPods a unique name other than “MyName’s AirPods,” which is kind of a cliché, isn’t it? – Is there an easy way to do this. Just open your AirPod case, then go to Settings Bluetooth and click the Information icon (circled “i”) next to your AirPods list.

Tap the current device name at the top of the screen and select a new one. It is so simple.

Change the double click function

By default, double-tapping the AirPod will activate Siri (or answer an incoming call). However, you can change the function to suit your needs, or better yet, you can change the function of each individual AirPod.

For example, you can double-tap the left AirPod to skip to the next song, and double-tap the right AirPod to go back to the previous song. You can set the function to pause or play music. You can even double tap to change the volume.

To set up these features, simply go to Settings Bluetooth and look for the Double Tap on Airpod heading. Select the left or right AirPod and choose what function you want it to perform.

The last feature is the ability to turn off automatic ear detection. This is on by default, which means your AirPods will automatically pause any audio content when you remove it from your ears. If you disable this feature, sound will play on your AirPods by default, whether you’re wearing them or not.

AirPods last about two and a half hours on a single charge, but in their case, they recharge quickly. If you are looking for a functional set of Bluetooth headphones, I highly recommend them. AirPods have proven themselves worthy of the admittedly high price tag.
