How to Change App Store Country on iOS 12/11.
Unlike Android, Apple makes it relatively easy to change the country in the App Store on your iPhone. M other guides on the Internet suggest create a new Apple ID if you want install iOS apps not available in your country. However, with the recent iOS update (iOS 11.4), it has become easier for you to simply change your country without leaving your existing Apple ID.
Before we start
If you change the country in the App Store using the following method, you will lose your entire purchase history (but not actual purchases). And if you have an Apple Music subscription, you also need to cancel your subscription. We also noticed that when we change the region on our iPhone, sometimes the US AppStore apps are updated in the App Store and sometimes not.
After that, I tested this workaround on my iPhone and iPad with the latest iOS 12.1 and it works flawlessly. So let’s take a look at how to install geo-restricted apps on your iPhone without changing your Apple ID.
How to change the country of the App Store
To get started, go to the settings page, find the iTunes and App Store listings, and click View Apple ID.
Then you must enter your Apple ID password to successfully sign in with your Apple ID. This authenticates the user and allows any changes to be made to the account.
Now you will see “Country / region”, click on it and then click “Change country or region”.
A new screen will appear with a list of countries, select the country where you want to change your region. In this case, I’ll go to the US as there are better streaming apps like Hulu, Sling TV, HBO now, etc.
Once you click on a country, a new screen will open asking you to accept the agreement. Accept this by clicking Agree.
Then you will need to provide a billing address. You can enter a random US address using google maps or the fake address generator website, you can use 10001 (NY) for the PIN. It is important to click No to receive payment information.
However, this workaround only applies to free apps and games , so like your Apple ID doesn’t have a valid payment linked. However, if you want to install paid apps, you can add a US iTunes Gift Card from mygiftcardsupply.com or target it.
That’s all. Your store region has been changed.
Now just go to the App Store (close it once if it was already open in the background) and look for apps that were not previously available in your country, for example: Spotify , Hulu, Pandora, etc., and as you can see, they are here now. Just click on it to install them.
You still need a VPN
This should work fine for most common applications. Again, you still need a VPN to access most of the audio and video streaming apps that check your location.
For example, if I want to listen to Spotify, I first activate the free ProtonVPN and switch to a server in the US. Then go to Spotify and sign in. And you’re done. Now you can listen to your favorite music.
However, if you are using HULU or Netflix the free VPN will not work as they now implement proxy detection technology, so you might have to use a paid VPN. services such as NordVPN or Smart DNS Proxy. We later used Netflix and Hulu and it works great.
Likewise, if you want to install a geo-restricted streaming app like Sling TV, Netflix, Amazon, prime, Hulu, just download them from the App Store using this workaround, turn on the VPN and login. If they ask for permission to locate, make sure you clicked Don’t Allow, and you’re good to go.
Change app store country on iPhone
So this is how you install geo-restricted applications that are not available in your country. The best part is that even if you later decide to change the region, it won’t affect the apps you’ve already installed.
