Facebook loves to constantly change things on its website and smartphone apps, so one day when you’re about to do something like changing the album cover, you won’t be able to remember how to do it!
I’ve already written about how to upload and tag photos to Facebook, so this post will explain how you can change the album art. Unfortunately, you cannot change the album art using the iPhone or Android app.
For some strange reason, you can set any photo in the album as your profile picture or change the cover photo through apps, but you can’t update the album cover! Considering that most people use Facebook through mobile apps, it is very frustrating that you cannot change this from there.
Change album cover
To change your Facebook album cover, load the website and click on your name at the top.
You will now see your profile with an avatar and cover at the top. Click on the “Photos” tab.
Now click “Albums” to upload all your photo albums to Facebook.
At this point, you need to click on the photo album you want to change the cover of so that all images are displayed. You can now change the album cover in one of two ways. The first way is to hover your mouse over the image you want to use until you see the pencil icon.
When you click on the pencil icon, one of the options is Make Album Cover.
In addition to this method, you can also click the Edit button located in the upper right corner of the album. Next to it is the “Tag” button.
Here you can edit photo captions, tag people, change the order of photos, and more. If you hover over a photo here, you will see a small down arrow in the upper right corner of the image. If you click on this, you will see the option “Make Album Art”.
As mentioned earlier, you can only change album art through the website for now. I’m sure Facebook will eventually add this feature to mobile apps, but for some reason they aren’t there yet. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to comment. Enjoy!
