Blending With the Smudge Tool

No matter how you choose to use the Smudge tool, blending with it will be the same. However, using it with your current brush can help make the blend smoother and look better. To use the smudge tool effectively, do the following:
Paint what you want to blend on one layer and turn on alpha-blocking or use a clipping mask on multiple layers. This will prevent blending outside of your drawing so you can be much more precise.
Select the Finger tool and start feathering the drawing. Start with an eyeshadow color and blend if you are using an eyeshadow blend. If you want an even blend, start in the middle of the two colors and move from left to right in shorter strokes.
When mixing colors, remember that the final product will look best if you mix similar colors. These are colors that are next to each other on the color wheel, not complementary colors that are opposites.
Blending With Gaussian Blur

In the upper left corner of the screen, click on the magic wand icon to open the settings window.
In the Gaussian Blur section, choose Layer to blur the entire layer, or Pencil to blend what you’re drawing.
