How To Back Up Apps to iCloud & How To Close And Uninstall Apps on iPad.
You may feel like there are too many apps on your iPad, and if you don’t know how to uninstall or close them, it can cause problems for your device. If there are too many applications open, the battery will drain quickly and too many downloaded applications can take up a lot of space.
Luckily, Apple has made closing and uninstalling apps on the iPad incredibly easy, so it only takes you a few seconds.
How To Close Apps On Your iPad
If you didn’t know yet, when you exit an app using the Home button, it is actually still running in the background. This way you can run multiple applications at the same time.
So how do you know which apps are still open? All you have to do is double-click the Home button. Or, on newer iPads without a Home button, you can slide the bottom of the screen up and stop in the middle without lifting your finger. You should see that all of your open applications are displayed in small rectangles.
If you want to close one of the iPad apps, swipe up to do so. Clicking on one of them will take you back to the application.
If you feel that you need to open many applications at the same time, but still save battery power, you can go to your settings and change the so-called background app refresh. To find this, go to Settings> General> Background App Refresh.

This feature allows apps to update in the background when you are connected to Wi-Fi. Therefore, if you have multiple apps open in the background, they will all update their content at the same time. Disabling this feature will help you save battery power, and you can still keep apps open. They will only update when you actively use them.
You can also select only a few apps to update in the background and prevent others from doing so.
How To Uninstall iPad Apps
If you notice that your iPad storage space is getting very full and you find yourself deleting photos and videos to save space, you should consider uninstalling some apps you are not using. This will help free up a lot more storage space on your iPad. There are several ways to completely uninstall apps.
The first way is to just hold the app until the menu appears. You should see an Edit Home Screen option here. Tap this and all your apps will start to shake, and those you can uninstall will show an X. Sometimes the app also has an “Uninstall App” option.
Tap this icon and when a confirmation window appears, click Remove. The app will be completely removed from your iPad.
Another way to uninstall apps is by using the offload feature. To find this, go to Settings> General> iPad Storage. Under your repository, you should see the option “Unload unused applications”. This removes apps from your iPad that you don’t use regularly, but it also preserves data in apps so you don’t lose anything important. Click “Enable” to use this feature.
If you want to enable or disable this, you can go to Settings> iTunes & App Store> Unload Unused Apps.
You can also find apps you’ve previously downloaded and uninstalled on the App Store. Once opened, click on your profile picture in the upper right corner, then go to the “Purchased” section. You will be able to browse and search all the applications that you have ever downloaded or installed on your iPad.
How To Back Up Apps to iCloud
If you’re worried about losing data in your apps but want to free up space, you always have the option to back up your apps to iCloud.
To do this, you need to make sure you have an iCloud account and also have enough space to back up your apps. When you sign up for iCloud, you automatically get 5GB of storage, but you can buy more if needed.
On your iPad, go to Settings> Your Name> iCloud. You will be able to see your iCloud storage, how much it is in use and how much you have left. You can also see how much storage certain types of data are taking up.
Below it, you’ll see a list of apps using iCloud. There should be a switch next to each application. Clicking on this will either turn off or turn on iCloud backup for the app. If you turn off iCloud for an app, a confirmation popup will appear. Anything already backed up to iCloud will be deleted if you choose Delete from My iPad. If you turn on iCloud for an app, the data will be downloaded to it automatically.
If you look at the list, you will see an option called iCloud Backup. You can tap on this to go to a screen where you can turn this feature off or on. iCloud Backup will automatically save data from your iPad to iCloud.
This is a good option to use in case something happens to your iPad when you lose data and want to get your apps, photos or documents back. They will already be saved to iCloud so you can get them back.
To back up to iCloud, you can click the Back Up Now button on this screen to save a copy of all your data to iPad.
