How to Automatically Forward Email in Outlook 2019

When going on vacation, it’s best not to have access to your work email. This way you won’t get nervous thinking about too many work-related things.

This problem? Lack of access to email can lead you to miss something important.

What if your opinion is needed to make a big sale? What if a client desperately needs you?

A workaround is to set up email forwarding in Microsoft Outlook. With automatic forwarding set up, you can rest easy knowing that all emails sent to your work inbox will be automatically forwarded to a different email address.

In this article, we’ll walk through the process of automatic email forwarding in Outlook 2019.

For windows

Go to file.

– /

Select “Rules and Warnings”.

In the pop-up window, select the Email Rules tab and create a new rule.

Then the Rules Wizard will appear.

The first step is to choose a template. So go to the “Start with an Empty Rule” section and select “Apply Rule to Messages I Receive”.

In step 2, make sure the rule description says “Apply this rule after receiving a message” and click Next.

You will then be prompted to select the conditions for the messages to be forwarded. As for the specific conditions that you choose, it’s up to you.

But if you want all your messages to be redirected to a different email address, you should not check all the conditions.

In step 2, make sure that the box also says Apply this rule after message is received. Then click Next.

You will receive a message that says: This rule will apply to all messages you receive. It is right? Select “Yes”.

Next, you will be asked what you want to do with the message. Check the box to send it to people or an open group.

In Step 2, make sure it also talks about forwarding to people or a public group. Then click the underlined portion of that text.

This will open the rule address window. Here you can access your address book where you can easily select an email address to receive automatically forwarded emails.

You can also enter your email address in the “To” section. Once you have entered your email address, click “OK”.

Once this window closes, you will be directed back to the Rules Wizard. Now click “Next”.

You will then be prompted to install any exceptions. As with most users, it’s best not to check all the boxes.

Complete by providing a name for your rule. What you choose is your call. Tip: keep it simple so you can easily recognize it.

Select the Enable this rule checkbox. After you review the description of the rule in step 3, you’re done. It’s time to click Finish.

For Mac (OS)

If you are using a Mac, you have nothing to worry about. After all, the concept of setting up automatic redirects is the same on Windows and Mac.

What you need to do is go home. Then select “Rules” and “Edit Rules”. Then select a client (IMAP, Exchange, outbound, or POP3).

Next, you need to click on the + sign. Finally, provide a name for the rule and a condition setting.
